  1. Thanks John, You've made me see something differently. I still have some issues with this. Maybe I just need to watch what I'm doing a little closer!
  2. Hail you. I'm a huge Okuma Fan,so I have to add my 2 cents. I currently program for fanuc controls, I had a problem communicating with a pro 3 fanuc. Looked at settings until I turned blue. I had been communicating with that machine with another PC in the past with no problems. Settings we're the same as used for an 15m control. 15 control had no problems. pro3 garbage. I found a link telling me to turn fifo buffer off in Control panel ports. For the port used for this machine. Also I have read other issues to this buffer in regards to comm. with some controls.Seems to fix several issues. Hope this Helps Hey know anybody running OSP2200's? Chris
  3. Nathan, I can see your customers point exactly. Being an ex. CNC Lathe guru. Ok not so ex. but working with mills now. I can see they're desire. Comping for a fixed radii in MC, can't compare to a wear radii at the machine. to correct x,z through radii corrects angle taper when accuracy on such is needed. I might be off key here, I remember comping a typical 2R.X 1Rz for distance from part. I used to program on paper for lathe. I have never used software for lathe. At one time I had comp formulae for xz comp in program. I never used it just too da_ed easy to use R. comp all the time. Even on paper. Maybe lathes have changed. Its been some time now for me. But I doubt it, comp. is comp. I know this isn't much Help. I'm not a post guru. I just understand they're objective. i hope there is some help here! I do have a request though. I've a post named Surface Question? Input would be appreciated. I'd linky, but ignorance is bliss. OK I don't know how! Chris
  4. I don't have an issue with the tool change. Or the rapid motion to Feed plane. What is happening is the tool feeds to z depth at rapid feed."great" Then feeds to the first x or y at rapid feed" not so great". The following x or y changes to feed rate. The result being the cutter entering the part at high feed rate. Or if I lower rapid feed rate to match feed rate. Slow motion to z depth. This only happens in some surface paths. No problems in conventional paths ie contour, pocket, circle mill, ect. Chris
  5. I've looked in the post. Maybe its there, It looks confusing to me. Anybody else see this posting surface parallel? I find the same issue in other surfacing as well. Anybody?
  6. I'm not a post guy myself. I can usually strugle through with some help. I'm using the generic MPFAN post, executable version 9.18 Converted from v9 to X. Controls are Fanuc 15m, Fanuc Pro 3. Chris
  7. Hi All, When posting a surface parallel program. If I do not have Rapid Feed rate set the same as Feed Rate. My first move, after the z plunge is at the rapid rate. I have worked around this since version 6.1 Habit I guess! Is this something that can be changed in my post? Or is there another work around? Chris
  8. I've been using X exclusively since September. Work was slow and I had the time to learn the interface. I have gone back to 9 only for reference for past jobs. Chris
  9. Thank You John, I had seen a previous reply in the ealier thread, That you were author of. I was unclear if your problem was resolved. But as threads tend to end. Sometimes it is hard to tell. I also noted that others found an answer. I did also reread that thread and found someone that has downloaded current drivers. This I will try also. Let's hope mr1 is the answer Thanks for your reply. Chris
  10. Anybody, I hoped to get a little more feed back. The original X worked fine. Somewhere Backplot must have got lost after the updates. I had high hopes monday morning after reading another thread or two on the same subject. Most appeared to find an answer to they're problems.I tried the suggestions offered to no avail. Was I left behind in an update to help the masses? Hello, CNC? Anybody? Does this thing work? Chris
  11. I don't use the step key. I get by back ploting. individual tools. Hassle! I do this when I really need good verification. I've been relying on verify. Chris
  12. Thanks Thad, Our local reseller, recomended this graphics card. Previous versions it worked great. I hope maintenance update fixes this problem. I really miss backlot. Chris
  13. Hi, Folks I'm having the rewind and flicker problem that others have had. I have disabled unified back/depth buffer setting in Backplot C Hook. Also disabled hardware acceleration in Screen Configuration.Problem has remained. X SP1 10.0.14.19 NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 100 Any suggestions? Thanks Chris
