A little late but have used Haas for trode for 3 years now. Like all have said need to slow down from what you would like to do. I make a lot of small 3D trodes from .006 to .015 end mills so the programs have alot of small moves. With these I find 40. IPM is about all I can do and keep EDM boys happy. But for the money not to bad. Also runing it at 10000 RPM it moves around some no chiller to keep it stable. The plung guys like it within .0003 of center can be hard to do.

Hi Keith I was at your shop when PCI was getting a machine. You cut some hardened parts for us. I was looking to learn what it needed from the post. Mikron does not support the controller so I was not able to get a sample program. It is good talking with you again, how’s things going at your shop great I’ll bet.
We just got a Mikron HSM 700 with an ATEK HS PLUS control from one of our plants that closed. A 1997 I think and hear the controller is not the normal for the machine. I was wondering if any body out there was programming one on Mastercam. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IT does not out put a Plunge Feedrate or
Stock Left . Is ther a way I can get it to out put these values.
Thanks Tim

What are the best books on MasterCam and what is the average cost for training. I went from ver 5 to ver 8 and I am sure there are a lot of tricks I am missing.
Thanks Tim
I have posted a few times but new compared to most. My name is Tim been in the machine trades sense 1976 stared programming 3d electrodes about 11 years ago. I have used EZ Cam, Free Form Machine, Esprit (for wire edm) a little Pro-e and Mastercam the most. I work for Tyco Electronics now making electrodes for molds and dies.
