I don’t really care where the arrow is when I open a file, I just want it to stay put until I move it and not jump around so much.
And why does it have to move when I select the properties tab within the current machine group?
One thing that drives me crazy is when you edit an operation then regenerate it the screen jumps to the insert arrow no matter where it is.
Sometimes I lose my place / train of thought when I have a long program that I’m editing.
Hi,
In my set-up sheet, I output the tool name as a tool description for tool setup. In X I’m not getting all of the text output that I entered in the tool description.
It looks like it stops at a period.
Example;
X tool Description: # F DRILL .257 DIA. 5/16-18 Tap Drill 2.25 Min Length
Setup Sheet Output: # F DRILL .257 DIA
Has anyone had this problem before?
Steel,
Create, create curve on all edges, then select the icon that has a blue box with a green check mark in it, that activates the solid. Then select the solid.
I had the same problem and it drove me nuts until I found that icon.
Lee,
I use a lot of these tools machining cylinder heads and intake manifolds on 5-axis boston digitals and I have all of them custom ground.
I’ve never had much luck with standard tools because of the type of grinding required on the backside of the tool past the tangent point of the ball.
Thanks Thad,
I’ve asked the questions in this post and also in the Beta forum without anyone being able to come up with a work around or any other suggestions that helped.
Cadcam I didn’t see the button for solids, thanks. Today was the first time that I’ve used that in X. I was trying to see if edge curves created with a solid could be chained and they can’t.
As for bringing in the native format I’ve had problems with that in the past so I’ve used parasolids since with great success. I did bring in a native file and it has the same chaining problem. I’m not trying to chain a solid body only wireframe geo. If you pick something that brings up the chaining dialog box it will chain no problem but if the chaining dialog box doesn’t come up it will not chain.
Gcode, I’ve had problems with duplicate entities before also but this isn’t the problem this time. Thanks
Hi,
Has anyone had problems with chaining wireframe geometry from a parasolid file? I use solidworks to create just about all of my geometry and then I use that parasolid in X. I’ve had problems chaining in X for a long time, in beta but I couldn’t figure out why until yesterday.
I’ve changed just about all of the chaining options and still can’t get it to work. You can use the geo. to chain in toolpaths but nothing else like deleting or xform.
Also I can’t select the solid from a parasolid to create curve on all surface edges but you can select it if you create curve on single surface edge. The geo that is created using a single surface edge can be chained.
Thanks for any help
