Here are some old Mastercam items I have lying around. The black box on top was shipped with V3. It included the video training tape shown below. The tan colored box and manuals are V4. BTW - That is a NEW seat of Draft V4 (5.25" disks) still in the shrink wrap. The dark blue box on the left is called plusCAM. That's Mastercam was called, before it was Mastercam! I also have the plusCAM dongle... S/N 61 When plusCAM became Mastercam, the box design didn't change. See the dark blue box on the right. The large tutorial on the right is from V3. The large (light blue) tutorial on the left is from Mastercam 386. The small (light blue) in the middle is from V4.

Lucky, I am a Mastercam dealer, so I am biased. However, I can tell you we have sold several Cimco HSM's and our users LOVE IT! Scott333 is one of my users. He hangs out here sometimes. Maybe he will jump inot this thread and tell you his thoughts.

Hi Claus, Congratulations on the release of the HSM Performance Pack. The website looks fantastic. But, I can tell you the actual product is even more impressive. Some of my customers have been using it for about a month now. They have roughed and finished in 55HRc. The toolpaths calculated quickly and provided an optimized cutter path. We have used tools as small as .5mm to finish. Thanks for allowing us to participate in the beta testing!

Hi all, Full disclosure - I am a Mastercam dealer. I am proud to say I make my living by selling such a powerful tool and feel that it is the finest CAM product in the world. However, what Jody & Scott are referring to is a 3rd party chook that is specifically designed for high-speed and hard milling. It is not meant to, NOR CAN IT, replace Mastercam's 3D milling toolpaths. It is like adding another section to the "electronic" toolbox. It has a couple 3D toolpaths that Mastercam does not offer. Mastercam has several 3D toolpaths that are not in the chook. We have placed a few copies in key accounts to gather feedback. All feedback has been extremely positive. Even scott333 who took just 2 hours to call back with a PO!

Hi All, I am a Mastercam dealer in Indiana. Like Charles, I use Dell laptops. (I currently have a 1.2GHz with 512MB RAM and 64MB NVidia card) I start Mastercam in the AM and maintain at least 1 open copy all day long. I simutaneously use Microsoft Office and other software products. OCCAISIONALLY, my fan will kick on for a few minutes, then shut off. Hope this helps...

Hi All, Some years ago I had a chook written that would sequentially number. It works and sorts just like drilling, only it creates numbers that are centered on a point. It works in V9. I can make it available for $250. (I paid MANY times this amount to have it written) If you like, I can put a demo file on the ftp site. Please let me know if there is any interest.

I think this can be fixed by changing your backplot settings. On the display page, change interpolate to endpoints. This should fix it.
