Either the majority of people in the aerospace industry have a lot of time on their hands, or the winners were not selected randomly?

quote:I sense you've been burned by other recruiters in the past.
I think anybody that has dealt with a staffing agency has been burnt in one way or another. I think that is why most people are suspicious when they see a general/non specific job post.
Headhunters are usualy not much more reliable than a staffing recruiter, but, it sounds like Brian knows the trade, and if Ron is praising him, he must be good at what he does.

quote:i think you would be better off paying more for better employees then paying over and over for tooling on jobs
Greg said it all right there. Your employees are either over paid and/or under qualified.

He probably thought he was posting under one of his other names. When you have that many it gets confusing.

I bet that squirrel could kick Hardmill's birds A$$!

How come the bird doesn't wink like his owner?

It's only about a 2 second delay here, but it is new to X4.

I would also appreciate a copy of that. Please!

Check your local reseller, they may know of something.

quote:I have seen programmers that only program for themselves and never get anything beyond that role.I have seen programmers who Engineer the entire process from rough stock to final part and everything in between.I have been a programmer, where I ordered stock, designed and ordered tooling and custom, designed fixtures, did all of the CNC Programming and more.So one person's programmer is yet someone else's Manufacturing Engineer is yet a programmer operator to another.
I think JP nailed it. The difference between those responsibilities is $$pay$$

Thanks Colin, I already signed up. I just didn't want to have to wait until the end of June. Oh well...

Just got an invite from my reseller. I am curious, what major improvements have been made?

Job Shop, so what ever the customer is paying for.

Sounds like you have made up your mind already.

quote:I guess only time will tell. I am not sure this is the right job for me.
I know the feeling. It is one of the toughest decisions you will make. Leaving a decent job for an uncertain one, especially one that you don't know if you are qualified for, is a decision only you can make, and live with.
If the other programmer is leaving, it sounds like it may be a sink or swim deal. I think if you are honest with them, you will know if it is the right job for you. Good Luck
quote:.every pay period for the government I get 6 hours of annual leave and 4 hours of sick time...so you can see why it is tough to leave. When are you leaving? I may want to apply.

I use drill/mills from MSC all the time. I am not exactly sure what you are planning on using them for, but I use them for slotting+chamfering with no problem.

quote:Time for a new sub forum here.
I think JP suggested that not too long ago. That is one thing I don't like about SW. I can't just go to the forum and do a search for the problem I am having.

No takers???

sounds like you have different NC file names.

When Tech support told me to try shutting off the firewall, I thought, could it realy be that simple??
I don't know if these are the same issues you are having, but it can't hurt to try.
Good luck.

My SW 2009 kept freezing up on me.(got so bad I could not even open it anymore) After wasting half a day trying to figure it out, I decided to do a uninstall/ re-install. I tried about 10 times to uninstall, getting to different completion points each time, and that wasted another 1/2day. The next day I called SW tech-support and they told me to shut off the firewall before uninstall and then turn it back on after install. Sure enough, uninstall/re-install worked first try. Kind of sounds like the same issues you are having.

Isn't that job security?
