  1. Anyone know if there's a way to create an obround shape using a certain circumference or spline length?
  2. Does setting "z" zero out away from the face of the spindle support effectivly move the work away from the head of the machine? Maybe like 2 inches? Will that give me more room between my fixture and the face of the machine? This is the first machine I have ever dealt with that moved both the spindle out and the table in at the same time to achieve positioning.
  3. The machine is about 15 years old I think and it has the Numeripath 8000 control on it.Recently it seems as though the "W" axis is moving in alot closer to the machine face than it ever has before. So I suspect that the w/z tracking may be off somehow.I don't know or understand much about programing this particular machine as we have always had someone else do all of the programing and machine setup, but he retired and subsequently passed away.So now I have "inherited" this machine with no training and an operator who is new to this machine.I also have been told this morning that it is an HMC50 instead of an HMC450 as was previously stated,if that makes any difference.
  4. Anyone know how to set the "W" axis back to zero after a ball screw replacement??
  5. Hey guys and gals.Is there a way to create bitmaps for the mastercam preview window by selecting a complete directory or do I have to create them individualy when I save the file in mastercam.I did a search and couldn't find any previous responses.I'm currently runing version X4 but I have many files archived from V7 on up and would like to be able to search from bitmaps
  6. "I know that reloading MD file also fixes alot of problems" What is the MD file?
  7. Over the years, we've had some very talented and very generous people write scripts/chooks when people requested them. Just one more great aspect of this forum. I couldn't agree more !!! Without this forum and the extremely talented people that frequent it many of us would be frustrated Mastercam "users" with only the resellers to help us out !!
  8. The only one I've tried so far is the ge3_2_mc9.vbs and it allowed me to convert V6 mastercam files to V9 files and then import them to V X3 and it worked great !!!
  9. Wow,just got started making use of some of the vb scripts that are there. What a great and useful site it is,my only wish is that someone could provide a list of everything on it and what each thing does.I realize it would be time consuming but for a new user it would be invaluable as the only other way would be to do a search for a topic that would reference the utility that someone already created or posted on the FTP server!!
  10. Thank you very much for the response, did exactly what you describe and it worked great !! However, every file it converted it "complained" about being corrupt or not a mastercam file or something like that which meant that I had to press the enter key repeatedly to get it to work on the whole directory. So at one point I weighted down the enter key and all was fine from that point on. HaHaHa.Also, you can run the same script in Vers.X3 right from the settings tab.Does anybody know why it "complains" about every file but converts them anyway????
  11. Okay guys, need a little help here.I just downloaded the vbs file from the ftp site, how do I use it to convert ge3 files to version 9.1? I have many mc7 files that I want to "mass" convert to 9 then eventually to X3 I have also just reloaded V9 as I realized I probably need that to use this vb script, right? 12. Duh,I should be whipped.I was thinking about older versions where you actually had to go to the chook menu!!!! Thanks,I found it!
  13. Hey guys, where can I get the chook for solid layout? I can't seem to locate it in X2MR2.
  14. I did a search to see if this topic was covered before but couldn't find any posts except ones that dealt with un-docking.The reason I would like to re-dock it is that with it un-docked,when you do a fit command, obviously the image is still behind the ops manager.
