  1. Right now I'm at the recommended Spindle, and Feed  1320rpm at 4ipm, with no peck, I have tried a peck, tried slower feedrate, slower spindle.......I'm just not getting anything to work.  Also the hardness is 35-43

    Thanks

  2. The V-Series HELIOS® is the 1st drill to process deep holes 10X-20X diameter, without pecking and without the use of internal coolant supply. Flute form, point thining and compound lead construction are all patented technologies developed by OSG to make this drill do what no other parabolic HSS-Co drill can. The addition of our exclusive WXL coating technology makes non-peck drilling repeatable, even in the longest of production runs.

  3. Hi all, I am having a hard time drilling a .203 dia. hole 2" deep in these parts.   I had it going with a OSG coated drill, where it lasted about 9 parts (9 holes per part), but the material must be a little harder than before, and I can't get through 1 part without the drill needing change.  I am running a VF3 Haas, without TSC, anybody have any great suggestions on a drill, that they have had good results with?

    Thanks,

    Frank

  4. Ok, one more question, I machine on a vertical machine with a rotary, so when I'm machining different sides of my part I have always used CPLANE ROTATE and then name the new plane like A270. or whatever it may be.  Hopefully this new Mastercam isn't going to force me to use the Gnome.  Can anybody help?

    Thanks,

    Frank

  5. If your running it on a Haas, our Haas's automatically use G98, and the previous programmer never used G98 or G99.  So I found out the hard way when I ran a job using G99, the machine Kept it, and when the operator ran the next job that didn't specify G98 it didn't jump when it normally would........I take them all out of my programs now.

  6. I'm thinking it should look like this, and JParis is right you probably had your cplane wrong.  Make sure your in top plane, and if you need to rotate around your part then change planes.

    Good Luck,

    Frank

  7. Wow regular guy.......I was being sarcastic! I have been on the floor, and have put myself into every job I do. I have been frustrated with this machine, and am so busy I don't have the time to learn the control to drip feed my programs to it. As much as I would like to know everything about every machine, I don't have the time, I have put forth the effort, but sometimes I have to give up, while my work piles up.......to get the job done. This part is still sitting on the machine waiting for a tech guy to come out and get the drip feed to work, and while waiting I have done 4 other hot jobs that are due. Even though I've received some great ideas here to get it going......I just don't have the time to try them. Thanks all for the responses !!

  8. Thank you David! Our control is normally set to Card, to load programs, and I tried to drip feed by changing that to rs232, but according to you I should put it on READER. I would think, if we are using the RS232 port it should be set to that? But will try anything. You wrote " You need to change it to what ever is set as your DNC device" could you explain this? Sorry I'm not real good with machine controls, or are the operators....I'm just a programmer.

    Thanks,

    Frank

  9. Hello all: I need to drip feed to this control, and am having problems getting it to work. I have used the chook in Mastercam, SectionNCI to break up my program, but now I'm running 35 programs one at a time to finish the part. The only expert I know in Drip feeding controls, is out of town.......Please if anyone can help, or knows of anyone in the Detroit area, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Frank

  10. I would really like to see...........when changing a drill depth, in a group of holes, when selecting that point that needs to go deeper, and click change at point, you are able to change it incrementally without have to know the absolute value it needs to go.

    Thanks

    Frank
