Hey All: I did a drawing, and am trying to print it, but the center gnome, or whatever you call it, is covering up my tool. I'm sure there's a way to turn it off, but can't find it.
Thanks
Frank
Right now I'm at the recommended Spindle, and Feed 1320rpm at 4ipm, with no peck, I have tried a peck, tried slower feedrate, slower spindle.......I'm just not getting anything to work. Also the hardness is 35-43
Thanks
The V-Series HELIOS® is the 1st drill to process deep holes 10X-20X diameter, without pecking and without the use of internal coolant supply. Flute form, point thining and compound lead construction are all patented technologies developed by OSG to make this drill do what no other parabolic HSS-Co drill can. The addition of our exclusive WXL coating technology makes non-peck drilling repeatable, even in the longest of production runs.
Hi all, I am having a hard time drilling a .203 dia. hole 2" deep in these parts. I had it going with a OSG coated drill, where it lasted about 9 parts (9 holes per part), but the material must be a little harder than before, and I can't get through 1 part without the drill needing change. I am running a VF3 Haas, without TSC, anybody have any great suggestions on a drill, that they have had good results with?
Thanks,
Frank
Ok, one more question, I machine on a vertical machine with a rotary, so when I'm machining different sides of my part I have always used CPLANE ROTATE and then name the new plane like A270. or whatever it may be. Hopefully this new Mastercam isn't going to force me to use the Gnome. Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Frank
Hello, just a quick question....I'm playing with 2017 and just created an arc, and wanted to put it at origin, earlier versions was easy, I just clicked on the drop down where you could choose Origin, end point, point........Where is it???
Thanks,
Frank
If your running it on a Haas, our Haas's automatically use G98, and the previous programmer never used G98 or G99. So I found out the hard way when I ran a job using G99, the machine Kept it, and when the operator ran the next job that didn't specify G98 it didn't jump when it normally would........I take them all out of my programs now.
