  1. That worked Cementhead......thanks. Still can't figure out why?
  2. I restarted Mcam, and it wasn't there. So I redrew the tool, almost made it thru, and then it popped up again. WTF Frank
  3. Hey All: I did a drawing, and am trying to print it, but the center gnome, or whatever you call it, is covering up my tool. I'm sure there's a way to turn it off, but can't find it. Thanks Frank
  4. Right now I'm at the recommended Spindle, and Feed 1320rpm at 4ipm, with no peck, I have tried a peck, tried slower feedrate, slower spindle.......I'm just not getting anything to work. Also the hardness is 35-43 Thanks
  5. The V-Series HELIOS® is the 1st drill to process deep holes 10X-20X diameter, without pecking and without the use of internal coolant supply. Flute form, point thining and compound lead construction are all patented technologies developed by OSG to make this drill do what no other parabolic HSS-Co drill can. The addition of our exclusive WXL coating technology makes non-peck drilling repeatable, even in the longest of production runs.
  6. Hi all, I am having a hard time drilling a .203 dia. hole 2" deep in these parts. I had it going with a OSG coated drill, where it lasted about 9 parts (9 holes per part), but the material must be a little harder than before, and I can't get through 1 part without the drill needing change. I am running a VF3 Haas, without TSC, anybody have any great suggestions on a drill, that they have had good results with? Thanks, Frank
  7. Thanks Gcode, I guess I'm going to have to learn a new way.
  8. Ok, one more question, I machine on a vertical machine with a rotary, so when I'm machining different sides of my part I have always used CPLANE ROTATE and then name the new plane like A270. or whatever it may be. Hopefully this new Mastercam isn't going to force me to use the Gnome. Can anybody help? Thanks, Frank
  9. That's it, I knew it would be staring me in the face. Thanks Frank
  10. Hello, just a quick question....I'm playing with 2017 and just created an arc, and wanted to put it at origin, earlier versions was easy, I just clicked on the drop down where you could choose Origin, end point, point........Where is it??? Thanks, Frank
  11. If your running it on a Haas, our Haas's automatically use G98, and the previous programmer never used G98 or G99. So I found out the hard way when I ran a job using G99, the machine Kept it, and when the operator ran the next job that didn't specify G98 it didn't jump when it normally would........I take them all out of my programs now.
  12. I just went thru something like this, I it was even easier than using Transform, just window the points. Check out the last toolpath. Frank rotate.MCX-7
  13. I'm thinking it should look like this, and JParis is right you probably had your cplane wrong. Make sure your in top plane, and if you need to rotate around your part then change planes. 14. Wow regular guy.......I was being sarcastic! I have been on the floor, and have put myself into every job I do. I have been frustrated with this machine, and am so busy I don't have the time to learn the control to drip feed my programs to it. As much as I would like to know everything about every machine, I don't have the time, I have put forth the effort, but sometimes I have to give up, while my work piles up.......to get the job done. This part is still sitting on the machine waiting for a tech guy to come out and get the drip feed to work, and while waiting I have done 4 other hot jobs that are due. Even though I've received some great ideas here to get it going......I just don't have the time to try them. Thanks all for the responses !!
  15. Thank you David! Our control is normally set to Card, to load programs, and I tried to drip feed by changing that to rs232, but according to you I should put it on READER. I would think, if we are using the RS232 port it should be set to that? But will try anything. You wrote " You need to change it to what ever is set as your DNC device" could you explain this? Sorry I'm not real good with machine controls, or are the operators....I'm just a programmer. Thanks, Frank
  16. Hello all: I need to drip feed to this control, and am having problems getting it to work. I have used the chook in Mastercam, SectionNCI to break up my program, but now I'm running 35 programs one at a time to finish the part. The only expert I know in Drip feeding controls, is out of town.......Please if anyone can help, or knows of anyone in the Detroit area, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Frank
  17. Thanks, but I guess we use the fanuc side of this machine for the tool offsets, do you know where I could find them?
  18. Thanks, so I just copy it to the external card, and when I need it, paste it ?
  19. Hi all, not a mastercam question, but I need to download all my tool offsets from a job on a Makino with a Pro 5 control. I'm sure there is a easy way, but can't seem to find it, Anybody ? Thanks, Frank
  20. I would really like to see...........when changing a drill depth, in a group of holes, when selecting that point that needs to go deeper, and click change at point, you are able to change it incrementally without have to know the absolute value it needs to go. Thanks Frank
  21. Hey all: My boss has a Mac, and edits g code with wordpad, was just wondering if there is a editor for a Mac ? Free would be nice. Thanks, Frank
