  1. If this works like my post file destination, then changes made only change for new files created after you made the change. I'm not sure how you change for an already existing file. In other words my (pre change) posts still go to the wrong folder. Any new posts in newly created or jobs go to the correct one. I hope this helps.
  2. Thank you, "auto" worked in tool profile.
  3. Thanks for the response but unfortunately the "As Defined" is still set in options. I really hope I can solve this because I use allot of tapered cutters. I guess I can go back to X3 unpatched if I have too.
  4. Hello All, I'm having a problem with X3MU1 showing tapered cutters as straight flute in verify. The cutters are defined correctly and verified correctly before I patched MU1 yesterday. Also in backplot I can see the taper fine. Any help would be welcome. Thanks, Matt
  5. I'm running XP Home. I'll try reinstalling the HASP driver. Thanks
  6. Thanks John, It's on its way to you.
  7. When our company switched from version 9 to version X the reseller also upgraded our hasp to a USB. At that time I noticed that version 9 would not run anymore (hasp not found). At that time it was no big deal but now I have an old version 7 file I need to convert using version 9. Do I need to reinstal version 9 with the newer hasp or is there some other way to run it. Thanks in advance, Matt
  8. This might be totally unrelated to your problem but I recently had a problem with surface rough and finish contours. I created a test mold and sent it to the local reseller. He acknowledged the problem and said he would submit it. I could not get the contours to go the bottom of the part when the surface changed in any way. The point to all this is, when I changed one setting everything worked. On the third tab go to advanced and make sure "over all edges" is checked. There is a problem with "only between surfaces" and I'm not sure about the "automatically" selection. It might not work for your problem but it fixed mine and the reseller confirmed there is a problem there. Hope this helps, Matt
  9. That last suggestion worked Rick. I guess it didn't like the cutter being the same as the draft. Thanks, Matt
  10. I've tried adjusting the depths all over the place and still no luck. Also the cutter I'm using is a 15 deg .03125 dia. flat cutter. If someone could tell me how to post to the ftp site let me know. Thanks, Matt
  11. Yes there is, and I've entered the top (highest point) and the final depth in and it still stops at the lowest point of the top draft. I know that sounds confusing :-)
  12. I'm having a problem with Surface Finish Contour while trying to cut some drafted (15 deg) letters. The tops of the letters are cut into a curved surface but the finish depth is flat. In other words at the top of the letter N the draft is .15" tall and at the bottom it's .05". The Surface Finish Contour will only cut down to the .05" then it stops. I cannot make it cut that last .05 of my letters. I have tried entering depths and also incremental. I have run into this problem before but only since I've been using X2. Please help if you can, Matt
  13. I found it. Thanks you all for the help. This forum kind of makes me lazy sometimes. :-)
  14. Can someone tell me how to open, and where to find a backup file. I just had a crash and lost all geometry and programming. I remember turning on backup last time this happened but have no clue how to use it. Thanks, Matt
  15. Thanks for the response. It's not really that big of a deal. It's just something I got used to. Now that it's gone I keep thinking I'm not at full depth for whatever reason. Guess I'll eventually quit living in the past. :-)
  16. Thanks but I've already found how to change the tool and stock colors. I just can't seem to get it to change when it matches on the Z depth like it used to do.
  17. I'm running X2 MR1 SP1 and I have a verify question. Back in some older versions of Mastercam while running verify the color would change when the tool reached full z depth. Like in a remachine when the last cut touched the bottom of a pocket, that entire surface would change color. Is there a way to get this back in the most recent version of mastercam. I can't seem to find it. Thanks in advance, Matt
  18. Thanks, I set up backup. The only reason I'm not terribly upset about this is I already created the NC file to run the job. I just never got a chance to double check my programming. Fingers crossed. :-)
  19. In X2MR1 I went to save a job and got an error message and lost everything. My question is because I can still click on the file name and the preview shows a picure of the file is it really gone? I lost all geometry and toolpaths yet the preview shows the part. I'm running XP home with System restore turned on, and Im wondering if that might work. Thanks in advance. Matt
  20. It just crashes on remachine unless finish passes is turned on. This does not always happen but when it does it's annoying. I found an earlier post that says it's an ongoing problem that might be fixed in the next patch. Thanks for responding though.
  21. Another Remachine Crash! I really thought they had this fixed. It actually worked a few times and now with a more complicated remachine I get another crash and more lost work. One fix that works is to turn on finish passes on on the third tab but this adds time. Version X MR2 NEVER did this. I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm bitching but It's annoying because I use remachine allot. Any help would be appreciated.
  22. Thanks for the welcome Thad. I searched the topic and found I'm not alone. I changed back to version X to get the job done for now. I hope MR1 comes out soon because I use remachine allot. Thanks Again, Waiting not so patiently, Matt
  23. I’m having a problem with Mastercam x2 when remachining large programs. I’m getting shutdown with the following error. The instruction at “0x0bb652e0” referenced memory at “0x0bb652e0” . The memory could not be “read”. This happens when I copy a pocket down and change the tool to remachine with a smaller tool. When I regin the program it locks up. Also I tried reallocating memory in the toolpaths and it did no good. So I gave up and opened the same drawing in version X. I set it up the same way and remachine works fine. Just to satisfy my curiosity I then opened the (same working) drawing in X2 and regenerated the path and got the error in the message. Also If the part is created in Mastercam the remachine works fine without the finish pass turned on. Only files brought in from Solid Works as parasolids seem to have this problem.
