  1. I usualy install and use the default menues/tool bar layout supplied by MC. Version X5 it seems my menues/tool bars float around? They will be stacked three high/ I'll move them back to what I think is original and a few days later they are goofy again. Any one know why? I tried to open the restore defaults, but it does not fix it. Oh, and no one uses my computer but me.

    Ideas?

  2. I have a solid from a customer that sucks! I created surfaces from the solid, but the holes are on seams. When I try to fill the surfaces where the ejector pins go through the part, I keep getting funky surfaces. How can I machine this part with out having the endmill dive into the holes? I would rather use the solid as a drive surface, not the created surfaces.

  3. When finish milling a mold using 3d cutter path some times my cutter does not go over the edges and leaves a very small lip. It can be polished out, but what tabs/goemetry or what ever do I need to get my cutter to either cut all the wat to the edge or slightly roll over the edge? I am using a simple parallel tool path, .002 step over and am machining a top face all the way to the edge.

  4. I worked at a shop that would use that type of comp. I tried to get them to convert but no go. They had hundreds of old programs that could not be changed. This stupid method, cost me several parts being scrapped. The machinist on the floor would "defend" this method stating it is the best way to do it, but they too scrapped many parts from entering the wrong comp amounts.

I had to write a Macro and install it into my post so the control could "check" for the proper comp value input into the control. What a stupid thing, I am still frustrated by this......

  5. No tool presetter, I am going to make a preset post that will use an indicating type of presetter. I want to be able to type a command, have the tool put into the spindle, and go to the preset point. Also it must set G15H0. I wrote a couple of them for Fanucs and Hass, but the Okuma language is different.

    Control type OSP-U100M

  6. I have an Okuma mill with a OSP control. I need a macro that I can use for tool length measurement. Are there any Okuma Macro Gurus out there that can help? I can program macros on Fanuc and Hass all day long, but do not have time to learn the "Okuma" way right now.
