  2. Yes. The last shop i worked at did. Contact glen sharp at sharper solutions for help.(www.wirelessshopfloor.com) He was our reseller of the cimco dnc software.
  3. I am doing a part that resembles an egg beater/mixer. The end is open so we preped the part with the lathe. My real question being is there a way to define what my stock size is so that mastercam can machine only the material left using the solid model? I have some tool paths that work right now, just alot of wasted air moves since we machined what we could using the lathe, following it up with a 4 axis hurco. I've done vary sizes of these, but I am left with the task of speeding the job up. Any ideas on tool paths to try or ways to define the bounding boxes or shapes would be great. Thanks
  4. By you mention the WCS again made me check something. I was changing everything to another view...WCS, Tool plane, C plane... I just tried it. If I leave the WCS to top and Chnage only the Tool Plane and C Plane to another view it post my A rotation. I am still getting G55 and G56 not sure about that one...But that is a simple fix to atleast get me up and running and worry about later. Thanks!!
  5. I was trying to do a 4 sided part on a rotary table. I applied tool paths, used my WCS to change view and apply tool paths to that particular side of the part. When I post my code though, all I get are g54, g55 g56 etc. I do get a starting A0 on the g54 line, but then no more. I have tried toggling on, under the Rotary Axis Control, Rotation Type, Axis Positioining...But that doesn't change the code any either. Any ideas? Since its a simply 4 sided part. I am able to work around it by posting the code and changing the g55 and g56 to either A180, A270...etc. Just a pain. Is this something I need to fix in the post file itself? Thanks
  6. Is there a way I can move my x5 shared folders onto a server location so that two pcs can access the same machine deffs, control deff, tool libaries, etc? I want to avoid the chance of having two different machine def one two seperate machines. I am already storing all the MCX files on a common location I just want to make the Shared information the same way.
  7. One quick thought. Try throwing in a G99 before the start of your drill cycle Something like g99 g88 x1.0 y1.0 z.50 z.10 r.10 f5.0
  8. Industry Standard is nice, but once you get all the bugs worked out Hurco's Basic NC works just fine. I have 8 machines all running Basic NC. I haven't tried rigid tapping as I only have that option on two of my machines. As we only started peck rigid tapping a few weeks ago with the one..."In conversational mode" I would get rid of the G80 at the end of each position. I will also have to see what I get when I output the some rigid tapping code and run it quick to see what the machine does.
  9. I am going to be getting a job, that I need remove a large amount of material. I am wondering what tool paths and tools everyone is using to get the most out of time. The material I need to cut is 6061 so that's nice. However my pocket with be approx. 40"x25"x1.5" deep. I need to have .5" radii in all corners. Would the HSS tool paths with full engagment be my best bet? Or use a face mill for most material removal and go back in the pick corners?
  10. Josh, Yes I am using a Hurco Post that was orginally for V9 Mastercam. Just keep migrating it up to newer Mastercam Versions
  11. My machine doesn't use R and Q. The full line of code would read 2+ holes Z2.M08 Z.5 G83X-2.5Y0.Z.9715Z.55Z.015F3.1 X2.5 G80 Z2. Where the z.9715 is the .5(Retract Height) + my Final Z depth, the second z (z.55 is first peck depth, third z.015 is the remaining peck depths 1 hole Z2.M08 G83X-2.5Y0.Z.9715Z.55Z.015F3.1 G80 Just not sure why it wont output the z.5 retract height like when there is 2+ holes
  12. I was posting code today for a few drill cycles and noticed that if I drill 2 holes using Peck drill, setting a Clearance Height, checking the use at Start and end of Operation and setting a retract height. I get good code... Z2.0 Z.5 G83...etc. However if I use Peck drill for only 1 hole, and use the same settings as above, i get: Z2. G83...etc. Any ideas? The post should be using the same Peck drill cycle to generate code reguardless of how many holes.
