Thanks pal! You da man!!!

X2, post from original Generic Fanuc 4X mill.pst
I set up misc values #4 to be
M98 P [0=OFF, 1=ON] to print M98 P when it posts. What I'd like to do is make it print M98 P14 if I have 14 in the 4th misc value field or whatever number I have in the field but it always prints this...
M98 P mi4$ 1.
How do I get rid of printing the mi4$?
Here is the line of code right after pcan2
if mi4$ = 1, pbld, n$, "M98 P"mi4$, e$ #

hmmm... I guess nobody can explain it. May be another bug.
-
OK, that made a difference but how do you explain it working on the other ops with Rotary axis checked???
-
I also have Rotate checked about the X-axis. I did this so I can see the part rotate on screen, so it puts the plane-side-up as the real world machine is. It's a standard cinfiguration 3 axis vertical mill.
-
The planes do work in the steps before #37. That's why I don't understand what's going on.
-
I always use Top Plane & copy it.
-
I uploaded the file to the MCX2_Files/ folder. It's called "Box Base.MCX" The problem op is #37 (last one)
-
Correct but it's rotating opposite. It's rotating the part up-side-down & putting the hole on the bottom of the part. Doesn't make sense.
-
X2. I have a plate here with lots of pockets, steps & holes. In the center of the part is what looks like the peak of a roof. Those 2 surfaces are 30° from center. I've set my 2 extra planes as Copy of Front Angle & Copy of Rear Angle. I have 36 operations (steps) & everthing is working great. Even posted code looks good.
The problem is trying to drill the 3 holes on the rear plane. It's always rotating the part C210.° then c30.° instead of C30.° from the beginning. Why now??? It's never done this with any of the other steps previous. I've done the exact same thing I've done with this plane to mill the other stuff relative to it.

Not sure about the FlowNest formats. It can only read & write one dxf format. There are no other options. It will always read the Acad though. When I saved it from X2 as Acad v2000, v13 & v14, AutoNest crashed But FlowNest works when saving it at these versions from Acad.
-
Has anyone noticed that the file saving format of .dxf has changed in X2? We've been saving some parts as .dxf in Mastercam X MR2, because the FlowNest software (waterjet) can only see .ord or .dxf. Everthing was fine & happy in the land of OZ. But the .dxf file saved from X2 crashed Flownest every time. We tried it using Autocad2004 & everything works fine. This tells me that the X2 .dxf is ahs been changed & is not the standard .dxf format. Any fixes???

ok, I got it working thru the Misc Int area but it still prints every position line with work offset calls. All I need to do is call the sub once with an Lxx. The sub will have the step over position in incremental.
-
Ok. I downloaded the 3 .MMD, .control & .PST files & put them in their folders. I had to turn on Subprograms in the control definition window. It still doesn't work. No subprograms at all this time.
-
OK, the Generic post made subprograms. The "Group NCI Output By" is still ghosted. How or when is it available?
Also all my stepover positions is the same X-.187 . How can Mastercam make all those absolute locations with sub calls into a G91 X-.187 at the end of the subprogram? then an M98 Px Lxx in the main program? This would really shorten the program, makes it easier for the setup person to navigate thru it & understand what's going on. Speed is essential for them once the job hit's the shop floor.

I have the #4-axis/Axis subs line that says YES but I don't have the #Subprograms line. It's a Vers 8.1 post. I'll try a generic that came with X2.
-
I guess so. Where else would the setting be except in the control def? The "Group NIC Output By" are in the tranform window is ghosted. I check the Subprogram & Absolute but the posted program does not show the change.
-
Jack Neelands, I tried the subprograms checkbox but it doesn't work. I have the option on in the control def too.

Isn't the material libray used to make offset calculations from the default speeds & feeds for that particular material? If so then only one inch & one metric tool library is needed. Is this correct? or is it easier to just ignore the material library & create multiple tool libraries as others have done? I haven't done any yet & am wondering which is the best route.

I've tried all kinds of settings; high quality, high performance & everthing in between. Also tried all the hardware acceleration settings but nothing helped. (ATI Radeon 9200, 128 meg)

I'll mess around with my graphic card setings. Does anyone else have the problem I'm having?

Repaint Toolpaths is on. I should have mentioned that the drill toolpath will disappear if you repaint the screen manually by clicking repaint or pressing F3 but we shouldn't have to do this extra step just for the drilling ops. It should work just like the others. Could be a bug because the drilling toolpath is a rapid path & not a cut path & they forgot to take care of this.
-
I've got Radeon 9200. We've got 2 different cards so i'ts got to be X2 bug. ;-)
-
In X2, select all you operations in the ops list, click "Toogle Toolpath Display On/Off" to turn them all of, then click "Only Display Selected Toolpaths". As you selectively go thru your different operations, it will only display the toolpath for the selected op & the previous toolpath will disappear. Simple so far. But when going from the Drill toolpath to another toolpath, the Drill toolpath never erases as the other do. It stays on screen & clutters everthing up.
Lead in/out

I'd like to add the lead in/out moves to the linear moves so that there is only one move instead of 3 (lead in, cut, lead out).
Reason is, some of our machines, with cutter comp give an alarm with 3 or more lines in a row without a vector change.
Is there a switch in the post for this?
Thanks
