  1. I came across this issue for the 1st time trying to back plot a file to get a app. run time. Only happing on 1 tool and only on certain toolpaths. The toolpaths it happens are all different types of toolpaths so I cannot pin point it to being 1 certain type of path. It's also random 1 toolpath back plots fine next 1 shows this error message. Everything seems to back plot fine and post out good.
  2. Doe's anybody know how to get rid of old tool planes that are showing that they are active, but are actually not being used. I have had this issue for years. They where brought in with another op. The were reconstructed and renamed due the fact they were off 180 deg to the new tool and construction planes
  3. There is a great iphone app called Machinist Journeyman. It has help with milling, turning, drilling, math ,decimal./drill chart & references. Milling has a chip thinning calculator.
  4. Here's the problem its only duplicate by name , its a totally new plane. Different angles. Plane 1 is 87.7663 degrees and new plane 1 is 86.0336 degrees.
  5. I just switched over to Mastercam 2023 a few weeks back and while creating a new plane for some 5 axis programming I noticed something different. Not sure if this was intentional or a glitch. I created a new plane in the planes manager I named it and set my X & Y & Z origins as zero like I always do and set my work offset to zero. I'm using a file from 2022 because the part I'm machining is almost identical to the new 1 so I have very little to change. Hence the new tool plane. When I switch the toolpath to the new tool plane it says the origin is X0. & X0. & Z0. But if you look at the attached pictures in the planes manger the new side 1 is showing a different set of values even though I made them all zero's. Can any body explain. Regards garrjess
  6. Thank you for the update on saving, that was not passed along by reseller.
  7. Just got off the phone with our Mastercam reseller, this is an issue in 2022 Mastercam and has been addressed in Mastercam 2023.
  8. I'm in 2022 it won't even accept a new row.
  9. So I rebooted MasterCam no change. So I tried to edit the advanced tool path I had and it would not allow to edited it in anyway once saved. So I wrote a new advanced drill tooth path inputting the .100 retract I wanted before the full the full retract and it worked just how I wanted. But once I saved that new Advanced toolpath it would not allow me to add a new depth, so I don't know if this is glitch in Mastercam it seems like you need to write this exactly as you want right out of the gate, because once saved you cannot edit it. I edit it click on blue + the green check and regenerate & it does not take the change I added.
  10. I thought it would be that easy, but when I add it & regen the operation it doesn't stick. Looks the same before I tried to ad that back up move.
  11. When using Advanced drilling is there any way to back the drill off the bottom of the hole say by .100 before it retracts out of the hole. I'm using a 15xd drill that is following a pilot hole and I have the advanced drill feature working in a blind hole. But I want to back it off the bottom of the hole them reduce spindle speed & shut coolant off then retract out and go to the next hole.
  12. Thanks for the reply.I actually called them this morning. They can't help me either.Smallest hole they can go thru is .248.
  13. The only way to get around this in matercam right now, is to draw this tool out & scale it & then pick it as a custom tool & set the tool parameters.
  14. Does anybody know of any companys out there in the machine world that offer flip out back spot face tools for cnc milling. The trick is that I need to go thru a .196 dia hole & create a .390 dia back spot face.I have found 3 companies that do this. They are Heule,Cogsdill & Erix.Erix so far is the only company that offers a tool small enough to go thru the hole but does not spot face to .390 dia, they get up to .35 dia.
  15. Has any body out there that is using mill X2 having a problem when they try to create drafting entities. I have a problem with mastercam shutting down. That famous message keeps appearing just about ever time I try to create drafting dim's, we are sorry for the problem but Matercam must shut down would you like to send a report. Signed frickin frustrated!
  16. It's not working to bad at this pt.Still trying to get use to using 10. Thanks
  17. So there is no way just to covert to arcs from splines.
  18. Mastercam 9 allowed you you to convert splines to arcs thru your modify menu.Does anybody know if this is still possible in MX2.It is not in the modify area of MX2 Thanks
  19. I new it would be something as easy as that. Thanks
  20. I am chaining geomerty.Yes there is unselect button, but if are chaining 40 pcs of geomerty you unselect of of these.I've got in now working by reclicking the geomerty to unselect it.What was a little confusing was that when I unselect it it still stay's high lighted as if where still picked & if try to clear colors you loose your whole operation. Thanks
  21. I've tried that. But can't seem to get it to work when chaining geomerty. It seems to work when deleting geomerty. If you click on something you don't want to delete just reclick on it & it unselects it.
  22. Know that I'm using MX2 if finding that when chaining geomerty & make a mistake that I can not backup like you could in version 9.Is this something that Mastercam does not offer or I'm just missing something here. Thanks
