  1. If it is similar to Macor, carbide tooling will cut fine. Steady and slow as she goes is a good rule of thumb. Be careful how you hold the ceramic as too much vice pressure will crack it. Use of a jewelers wax (must be heated) fixed to a fixture plate, works well to hold Macor during machining. Good luck!
  2. Can the Mastercam X Editor send files to an ethernet hub?
  3. While regenerating a remachining operation, how do I set the display so that I don't have to keep my finger on the return key? Thanks in advance
  4. Thanks for your reply The problem was solved by the good people at In House Solutions. Tim edited the post.
  5. When posted, a manual entry operatiion is adding the following to the top of the NC code output. M09 G91G28Z0 G91G28Y0 /G91G30Z0 /G91G30X0Y0T0M06 This is coming from the "peof" section of the post. Is there a way to suppress this? Thanks in advance Graham
  6. Tried turning off open-GL. No Luck, and now I can't turn open -GL back on. Mastercam has ghosted the button. Any suggestions?
  7. Has anyone been successful running Mastercam with remote desktop. I am running Mastercam on Win XP Pro in my office, and using a remote computer with Win 98 on the shop floor to access my office computer through the network. Everything works fine except for Mastercam. It will not redraw the screen. Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks Graham
  8. Sorry for the confusion! To summarize the point I am trying to make. I am familiar with the organization tools Master Cam has to offer. But I would like to see a system developed that doesn't restrict the programmer to organizing tool paths using these predetermined algorithms. Picture your operation manager with a new column on the left side. This column would have a box beside each operation. In this box is where you would create the order of operations for posting. You would simply type in 1,2,3,4 and so on. These numbers do not have to be in the same order as your operation list. This way you can have full freedom to create and leave the operations in any manner that is most useful to you. If this has made the original idea clear, we can then elaborate on some ideas for nesting later. Hope this clarifies things… example:
  9. As I programmed a part, I organized its operations using toolpath groups, e.g.: facing, pocketing, engraving etc. When it came time for posting various operations, there were no tools available to organize the operations in the order(s) I required. I would like to suggest that the operations manager have a new column introduced beside the operations list that would allow you to configure the posting order by number. It would also be useful if this column could have nested groups of ordered operations. I know that I could have created or relabelled my groups to suit the organization tools included in Mastercam. Most of the time that works well for me, but in this instance it didn't make sense. The new method described above would have no restrictions for ordering allowing programmers to program as they feel best suits them and or the situation. Does anyone else believe this would be a good feature?
