  1. My boss is asking me to put indicator checks into the program for our rookie operators. I have never done anything like this, I'm looking for a way to prgram them in and i am not having any luck with it. He wants me to put this in where it forces the operators to check certain things on each part. rather it be a milled edge or contour or even a bored hole. I was thinking of placing points in a program and using drill cycle and calling up a "dummy" tool and selecting these points and having an optional stop after each point so then at each optional stop they can hand wheel down check the feature and then cycle start to next optional start. has anyone ever programmed anything in like this? running Mcam X9 with 3 milltronics machines Thanks
  2. we just got Pro Drill add in for mastercam X8 and I have talk to our resller several times and I am not getting any answers (Probably as fast as what I would like) I am setting this all up to use and I can not figure out where to select so the drills will not drill deeper than the flute lengths of the disired tool...same for reaming and tapping also. this could be a manger problem with the green programmers and operators we have now. Does anyone know where this setting is at or how to stop this from happening? Thanks
  3. We are a tool and die shop and we are trying to get away from squaring material before it comes over to the cnc's Right now we square blocks up on an old manual horizontal mill and a vertical mill and takes a long time. We are wanting to look into these magnetic workholders for setting up in the cnc and face and square the block and machine holes or whatever is needed in the block. Then flip the block onto a fixture with established datum points of some kind and machine back side . Has anyone ever used these magnetic vises or workholders ? I would be happy to hear of any other ideas you guys have too also on how your processes are for squaring blocks up before machining Thanks
  4. Yes it worked changing the origin from the WCS I guess I am used to just xform move to origin , 2 clicks I would sure think the holes are tied into the solid and when you move the solid the hole wizard would update also
  5. I just got solid works loaded on my compurter so I am playing with this Feature based Drilling in mcam 6 mu1 . I open a solid works file and import the solid history and write a program using FBM drill and import in hole wizard data from solid works and it works fine it recognizes the tap holes just fine . but if I translate to orgin mcam will not recognize the hole wizard data from solid works so it doesn't recognize the tap holes . it shows a 5/16 hole when it should be a 3/8 tap hole Am I missing something here or forgeting to check something when opening the SW file Scott
  6. I have the same problem but ... Its seems that I only have this problem with the default machine definition . If I have my machine definition present it will not do this ...
