is there a way of importing from a text file in mastercam to create a large number of 2D points. instead of imputing manulally
i dont have a digitiser and i have saved over a 1000points of a complicated profile using the LEARN and MODAL functions on my Anilam 3300M controller.

i am doing a small job for a compy and they have send me a solidworks file that they have run through their rapid prototype machine all fine
my mastercam 9.1 doesnt seem to wnat to convert the .SLDPRT files it comes up with an error:
Cannot find parasolid data in Solidworks file
i have converted other solid works files before no worries ...
could it be there file

what i use for outside and inside thread milling is actually the boring bar for a lathe with single tipped thread cutting.. does that make sense... i just shortend the tool to fit into my BT40 tool holder..
what is the best way to create this surface... when i try to create a surface from a simple circle to an Obround shape the surface distorts and seems to choke in between the two ends.... ive attached 2 pics.. one what i am trying to acheive and 2 my attempt.... im not too familiar with surfaces....
i think its because i had open chains ....... i will stick to the old way i been doing it ... contour toolpath with comp off. yes the Engraving tool path was an addition ... thanks guys for ya help
hi all... when trying to use the engraving function in 9.1 instead of using contours...... when i select the chains..... and then do toolpath only 1 chain is selected......... i do the same using contour and turn tool comp off and its fine .. anyone else have this problem or is it dumb old me
hi guys .. ive created a surface its tapered from top to bottom..... on the inside ..... how do i flip all the surfaces so that i can generate a toolpath and machine it on a 3 axis machine
