  1. HI,there,

the generated G-code shows compensation occured on arc move, whne I use 3/8 ed bore a .8" hole, I checked "start at center" and "perpendicular entry", but didnot check "output arc move for helixs", in control definition, "helixs support" is actiived.

    how to fix this porblem.

    thanks in advance.

  2. Hi, there,

I have a job which has a flat bottom hole of 8.500mm (0.3346)" with depth of 44.5mm (1.750)", tolerance is 0.001", the internal surface finish is 1.6um, Can anyone give suggestions on tooling,RPM,feed, depth cut? the material is Al6061 T6.

    thanks very much.

  3. thanks Cris and Ron,

I made a mistake when I set Minor dia. for OD thread. now it is fine.

Another question, do you think I need do multiple cut for M20x1.5 on Aluminum? I set cutting speed 400sfpm and feed rate 8.4 ipm (chip load .003"/tooth), is the setting OK?

    thanks

  4. Hi, everyone,

firs time to mill a one start right hand M20x1.5 OD/ID threads, I searched the forum, there was no answer to my question, so post it here, hope you guys can help me.

    Qeustion:

first I mill a boss 0.7815" in Dia.,and the set thread mill Dia. is 0.57"(from the supplier, also I checked it by cutting), I set the Major D 0.7815", pitch 0.059055, use "wear" bottom up,

why there is no cutting? I did not set wear to any value.

    thanks very much.

  5. Hi,John

our machine is HAAS VF-2,I am sure the machine set up for rigid tapping.

do you think the Lyndex Positive Drive maybe a factor?

I did not try to use a ER holder to hold the 1-72 rolling tap.

    thanks

    Eric

  6. Hi, John,

I use Lyndex positive drive holder for 1-72 rolling tapping, through hole, 7mm deep, rpm 1440(feedrate 20), A9 lub. it was broken when finish 10 holes.

do you use positive drive? is it not "rigid" enough? I noticed that there is still a little movable space, not like in ER collet chuch that the tap was deadly holded.

  7. Hi,Guys,

I have no experience on rigid tap, my questions may be stupide, pls don't laugh, redface.gif , help me, thank in advance.

    • What type tap is suitable to CNC Rigid Tap on CNC? Rolling form tap, spiral fluted tap?

    • What type holder is used for rigid tap? Positive drive holder, normal collet chuck holder? Which is better?

    • For small thread hole, such as,1-72 7 mm deep, 2-56 12 mm deep, what tap is the best choice?

    • I noticed that there is a little bit material pushed out when forming tap a through hole, how to deal with this?

    • When working on Aluminum and Stainless 306, what type tap do you use? And how is about the feedrate?

    • When rolling tap, do you use lub. Oil ? How do you handle the coolant in the drilled hole?

    • What brand tap do you suggest?

    • how to do 1/8 NPT tap on Aluminum, peck tap or not? what type tap do you suggest to use?

    Eric

  8. I will have a job, material is Kovar, size is 3.8x4.0x28mm, in the center there is a hole dia 2.6mm, and on the side there are two 0.6 mm holes,

what kind of drill suggested to use, cutting speed and feed ,peck depth?

    TIA
