Due to network changes at work, I am no longer able to post to our server so we set it up so I could post directly to the computers at the machines. The problem is, if those computers are not running when I start Mastercam, it will put another machine definition in by default. I realize it's because Mastercam is trying to find the NC path and it's not finding it. One solution would be to just start all the computers before opening Mastercam, but there's got to be an easier way. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

My IT guy figured this one out for me. In case anyone else has this problem. Right click the X5 icon in properties-compatability check disable desktop composition. Now it works great.

Actually, the reason I had X5 installed was because it was a new machine. I figured it would be best to just start clean. It does open in X4 on my old machines. I'm going to have the It guys install X4 on the new ones. I'm just hoping it's not the video card. I'll get back to you when X4 is installed and let you know the results. Best Regards Wayne

Ok I got it figured out. The problem was I'm so locked out on my systems that I'm not able to view images on the forum. So I didn't realize that John had such a good description of what to do. I had to get one of the IT guys to log in so I could view the images. Then it worked great. Thanks CParish and Gcode for the great help. BTW I think they should put a sticky on John's instructions again. I know it used to be up there. I have 2 more machines to set up and I'll probably need it again.

They don't appear when I go to Manage List but if I grab one of the other ones. I can then go back through the operation manager and change it there because it shows up through there.

I'm trying to import an image to art to trace using rast to vector It will show the image on the preview but when I bring it in the screen is just white It's a brand new computer win7 and new install. It's worked great on all the previous releases. Thanks

My files don't have the -5 extention on them just the MMD. Is there a way to chnage that?

I did a search and all the files in the folder show up except mine. I'm confused.

Gcode, Are you saying that I may have put them in the wrong place?

I ran the update and it still doesn't see the files. When I go into the cnc machine folder it doesn't say that they're Mastercam X5 MMD or Control files they just say MMD and CONTROL files. Can this be the problem?

I have a new install of X5 on a new machine. Everything seems to be working except when I try to add a new machine type it doesn't recognize my old def. I can grab a default and the change it through the operation manager but I'd rather be able to grab it right away. Thanks Wayne
