  1. I've had the same problem with the Fanuc doing surface-rough-pocket, it's like the arc goes the long way around. In the filter turn off create arcs in xy. Sense doing this I haven't had any problems with the arcs going the wrong way.

  2. Every once in a while X will not let me post multiple tool paths. All morning I've been doing simulars file, then all of a sudden I get one that won't let me post the whole program. I'm useing X mr1. I've been useing the same post for all the files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I cut a lot of surfaces on Komo Routers, 1/2 ball, 3/4 ball, 13,000 rpm 250ipm, .010 to .012 step. my surfaces are normally swept, coons or from solids, and usually good results, but this loft surface came out really ugly. Next time I'm using a different Machine, I really believe that is where my problem is, but I thought I would ask the gurus just to make sure.

Thanks again for all the help.

  4. I'm using scalop, 1/2 ball with .008 stepover in 6061 alum.. I'm thinking it's a machine problem, I just didn't know if surface type had anything to do with it. The part is a light sconce for an aircraft, a very odd shape and the loft surface seems to look the best.

    thanks for the quick reply

  5. The first Lathe I ran at my first job was a Niles built in 1890, It had a 42in face plate, a monster machine, The dails had no increments, it orginally bored cylinders for steam engines. The oldest nc was a 1957 Monarch Mono matic that had a mind its own, we could take a 1/4 inch per side cutting 4041 no sweat except when you hit by a chip. eek.gif
