  1. I am working on a long-hand (canned comes out the same way) thread cycle and I want my feedrate to read "E 0.05906" (for a M30 x 1.5 external thread), but it only comes out as "F 0.06" . I changed the feedrate parameter in the post form 18 to 19, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Jake
  2. There is also a button for "Change Entity Level" under the "Utilities" toolbar. It allows you to move or copy to the Main Layer or Choose Layer.
  3. Yeah, that would probably explain it. Now if only I can get the front office to agree to upgrading to X2.
  4. I am running MCAM X MR1, does the Backup utility exist in this config, only in X2 or downloadable? I checked in settings and configure, but cannot find it. We have had similar problems with this as well. One guy lost all of his data after working 4 days on a program. The only thing he got when he opened it was a few lines on the active level when he had saved it, but nothing under operations or any other geometry/levels. luckily, or fileserver backsup nghtly, so he only lost a days worth of work.
  5. We are using the MPFAN processor included in MCX, and the editor is Cimco Edit
  6. Is there anyway to change the .pst to include the following in the header ofthe NC file: % O730(HOLDER) (MCX FILE - 1730.MCX) (NC FILE - 1730.NC) (PART NAME - HOLDER) (PART NUMBER - 1730 REV.1) (UPDATED - 8-22-07) (MATERIAL - 1018 STEEL 1.25 DIA) (CYCLE TIME - ***GET TIME***) (SETUP TIME - ***GET TIME***) (SHIFT TARGET- 0/10 HOURS) Any help would be appreciated
  7. The drawing is correct to the print, I have trimmed and retrimmed all of the intersections, still get the same problem. Oh well, thats a problem for Monday.
  8. OK, we got that changed adn we have it in 5 places now as needed, but now we are getting "different radii between start and end points" on the EDM....this part is becoming a major PITA. Thanks for the help guys, I do appreciate it.
  9. Here is what I can find in the posts: code: fmt I 13 i$ fmt J 13 j$ fmt K 13 k$ fmt R 13 arcrad$ Here is the NC-code I am getting: code: G41 X-.11521 Y-.21574 X-.08961 Y-.44037 G2 X-.1241 Y-.5002 I-.0577 J-.0065 G1 X-.25413 Y-.5567 G3 X-.2781 Y-.5892 I.0161 J-.037 G1 X-.31521 Y-.91447 G3 X-.3067 Y-.9442 I.0401 J-.0045 G1 X-.04039 Y-1.27896 G3 X-.0049 Y-1.2688 I.0157 J.0125 G1 X.02798 Y-.98048 G3 X.0184 Y-.9326 I-.0792 J.009 G2 X.0494 Y-.6601 I.2054 J.1146 G3 X.0696 Y-.6156 I-.0591 J.0535 G1 X.14013 Y.00385 G3 X.0353 Y.1357 I-.1183 J.0135 G1 X-.00897 Y.14071 G3 X-.1408 Y.0089 I-.0135 J-.1183 G1 X-.11521 Y-.21574 G40 X-.10328 Y-.21438
  10. We actually use it for programming our EDM. I am rather new to the programming side of the setup, we used to have a programmer that did the computer work and we just took his NC file and ran with it, iint he last year, our department lost the programmer and we have started doing our own programming. Our Dept. Mgr. has minimal exp with modifying the post processor, but he has almost no exp with MCX, mostly MC9 and MC8. Right now to get it to work, he programs/posts it in MC9 then take it to the EDM. I looked in the control definition and made some changes, but cannot seem to get it to change the arc moves, just the linear.
  11. Where do I change the settings to allow me to have five decimal places in the g2/g3 lines. I have modified the control definition to increase the tolerance, but I am only getting five decimals on linear, no circular moves.
