Is there no better way to drill radial holes than relying on a 3rd party add in? I've tried the feature based drill, it works, but I'm not at all crazy about it creating a different op and work offset for each radial position. I was however to use FBD to create the points and lines then deleted the ops and used multiaxis. Is there no way to use the solid to generate these?
I'm having some issues using Verisurf hole axis on a cylinder. When it outputs the point and axis, it doesn't always put the point at the top of the hole and it doesn't seem like there is any specific reasoning as to where it goes. Am I missing something or is there at least a way to project them to a diameter so that when I use drill 5 axis I don't get varying depths? Thanks for your help!
Hello all. Installed X4 last week and been having some issues with it. When I pick a tool out of the library, it doesn't automatically pick up that tool's settings. For example, if I pick a tap it doesn't automatically set to a tapping cycle as it did in previous versions. Any one else having this problem?
I'm pretty sure I understand what you are saying, but by doing a 2d contour with axis substitution, the z axis won't move with the rotation of the part.

Thanks! I tried using y axis substitution. When I did that, the toolpath was 90 degrees off. I can't seem to figure out why it did that either. I compensated for that in the control, but code still rotated to an angle that was way too steep. When I analyze the angle it should only be about 37 degrees. The 4th axis went up to about 70 degrees. I also tried the 3 axis option but that did the same thing.
