    I can have the engineers save them as a .SDPRT file but I hate having to go through another step. I also notice that I can see the .SLDASM in the preview window of the "file open" dialog. Thanks Dave, I'll send you a sample file.

    Yes, all the .SLDPRT files are there. We're using Solidworks 2008 service pack 4. And the file size is 1,895 KB.

    Hi all, I have a problem opening .SLDASM files. I get a "Cannot find Parasolid data in Solidworks file" error. I can open Solidworks .prt files just fine. I'm running X4 MU3 on a XP Pro system.
