  1. Same to me. This forum is my best favorite site. Whenever I was stuck working Mastercam, I cam here and my problems were answered quickly and clearly. Without your help, I was unable to get my jobs done well. I have a question. Why don't we have an conference annually so emastercam forum members can meet and share information even online or offline? One again, thank you so much emastercam for giving us a good chance to learn and improve our careers. Best wishes, Tony Tran
  2. Yes, both of you are right. It was my bad and I am sorry for bothering you guys. Good day, Hai Tran
  3. Hi guys, I am freaking out with X3. There are a lot of problem when I changed to use X3 from X2. A big problem is verification always get me a wrong depth like the shown picture below even though I enter/select the right depth value. As the shown picture, the depth should be on the top of yellow surface. However, it goes under that and I don't know what wrong. And when I generate NC file and verify it in Vericut, everything is perfect. Is there anybody here get same as my problem? I don't want to switch X3 and Vericut anytime I got the same problem till I finish the whole program. Thanks, Tony Tran
  4. I tried many ways even deleted the old program and created a new one but I still got same problem. It was weird because it worked for another 5 Axis program but not the one I have been working. I really need NC code to run the parts outside. Thank for any help. Tony Tran
  5. Colin's Instructions. It is very helpful and super easy to understand: 1. Here is the toolpath in backplot: 2. Here is a shot of just the wireframe: 3. When you chain, click on the "options" button (looks like an exclamation point). I also used a "Color" mask to help me select the chains. I set the mask color to red and blue and left green unchecked. That made it super easy to chain the top and bottom rails, but Mastercam still uses the green "Branch" lines to help the tool transition... 5. Sample File was fixed by Colin: Good Swarf 5 Axis
  6. lol...I am so happy...so happy. Now I know how to do it by following Colin's instructions. Again, thank you so much.
  7. I really appreciate your help. I sent you an email and looking forward to receiving back. Good night, Tony Tran

  9. Colin, I couldn't upload to CadCam's FTP site in somehow. I put it in my server and you can get it from this link: Swarf 5 Axis Tyler Robertson: I understand what you are saying. It is very cool to know this thing. Thanks all for your help. I tried using 5 Axis Curve and it worked. However, I also want to use Swarf.
  10. I am totally new to Mastercam 5 Axis. I have been struggled with Swarf although I followed MasterCam Training Tutorials instructions. Here are my problems: 1. Using Wall Chains: Like below shown picture, I selected two red chains and I got error said "Must sync sharp corners". 2. Using Walls Surfaces: I got an ugly & unexpected toolpath like this For another job similar to this one, I got a good result toolpath Thank for helping me, Tony Tran
  11. Mike: I am using X2 MR2. My boss wants to upgrade to X3 but I wonder if X3 is big difference from X2. Thad: Thank for giving me a hint. Pocket function really pisses me off so I give up. I go back to my own way is to create 2D toolpath and it works perfectly. Hopefully, X3 is better so that I don't need to spend much time on pockets. Good weekend, Tony Tran
  12. Hi guys, Whenever I use Pocket ToolPath, I still got a little excess material although my stepover percentage is only 50% of Tool Diameter. Is there any way I can get rid of. Thanks for helping me, Tony Tran
  13. Today, I still got an another error even though I logged in under administrator name like this Have a good weekend, Tony Tran
  14. Yeah, you are right John. I logged in my computer under my name. Cadcam: lol... I know what you mean. However, I am learning MasterCam beside Catia. Something in MasterCam is better than Catia and in return. It is not hard for me to catch up 3, 4 Axis in Mastercam but I have still struggled with 5 Axis in Mastercam. Anyway, thanks all. Good night, Tony Tran

  17. Hi, I am here to need your help. I want to finish the surface and corner inside radius in 3 Axis as shown below. However, I don't know which surface finish toolpath I should you. I used Surface Finish Contour but it doesn't look like I want. There is an extra outside toolpath. And it doesn't cover corner radius as shown. Thanks, Tony Tran

  20. Hi, It is weird for me to use Circle Mill. Sometime I can change value at circle diameter box but sometime I cannot because the circle diameter textbox is inactive. Do you know how I can turn it on to change value that I want. Thanks, Tony Tran

  22. Sorry for bothering you. Actually I am not Mastercam programmer yet, but I am Catia designer/programmer. As my company requests, they asked me to switch to MasterCam. Thats why I have to learn MasterCam X2 in a short time quickly. I am practicing on a sample that I asked you how to use which surface rough. Here is the list of ToolPath that I have done today. I started learning MX2 3 weeks ago and I know that is not enough time for me to write a good program. Thats why I need your help and keep learning everyday. Good day, Tony Tran
  23. Hi everybody, I need your help today. Which surface rough do I need to use to mill only this surface (white color) as shown? The toolpath should go inside the surface only and will not pass the pocket. I don't mean to compare which program is better. If anyone uses Catia V5, he will know I use Spiral Milling for this surface. Thanks, Tony Tran [ 03-13-2008, 06:59 PM: Message edited by: Tony Tran ]
