Could a macro be recorded or a VB script written to perform this task automagically ? Would save some time although it wouldn't fix the problem.
-
Uninstall/Reinstall 9 or try deleting the .cfg file and restart 9. it will create a new .cfg file. Good Luck

No quick switch I know of Chris, you can just print out an Operations List from Ops Manager and use that at the machine for a quick fix.
-
No your tool should be 1.000" in X like Lars 1st picture, then you put the actual size like shown above in Lars 2nd picture.
-
Did you choose undefined when you started as the tool type ? You have to use undefined iirc.

Macros can take many forms. Application macros repeat tedious operations. Keyboard macros record keystokes for repetitive tasks. For CNC machines, macros are conditional events controllers used to pass information within the control. Macros for Touch Probes or Tool Setting Probes are actually a series of subprograms that use conditional events to control/pass output of the probe results.

Matsurra 40 taper horizontal 5 ax with pallets would be my choice. This would be a great starter machine for $100K.

If using a solid, just click the edge only icon and pick the edges you want. It will allow you to set the size after picking your edges.
-
I would guess he is saving off a solid only file and calling that in verify.

Quickest way if you want two work offsets is to go into view manager and copy TOP Plane for example and rename it to what you like. Then you can set that new one to your other geo position.

Bruce,
If you have the Renishaw Inspection Plus software installed, Macro O9835 (Updating SPC Tool Offset) is what you are looking for. Macros may have different program numbers in the machine.
If you need I can send pdf of Renishaw Manual.

Dave,
Been out here 30 yrs watchin the Viets, from down south in Garden Grove to up here in the Bay Area. When you walk into a shop full of Viets with a Viet Owner and the whole shop is running on cracked Windoze and cracked MC it tends to xxxx ya off after seeing it so many times. Now for all the shops that buy one seat and have 6 more is that OK ? Bunch of thieves don't get my sympathy.
-
Say what you want, doesn't really matter to me. This is just one of many who do this. You guys go ahead and help him all ya can. You'll see more cracked MC running in all these little crap shops and nothing done about it just like the guys overseas who are taking away our work using cracked software. It might not affect you directly yet, but it will soon enough........

FWIW this fellow is same one who was asking about this a few months back sim error
Question/Issue__________________________________________
(Sim) Error message: Invalid SIM found-error code 2, EXE not valid
Cause: Hasp emulator
Answer/solution____________________________________ V9

I would hope everyone here knows what an emulator is used for..........

Has anyone went into Task Manager and tried setting the priority to High on MC to see if there is any difference in performance ?

+1 All the numbers come from the same place.

Zoober,
Cool Beans
Plate Stock only or Forging/Casting 2 ?
James,
quote:MACRO programs are such a pain, so few people know how to use them any more. CAM Systems have taken over for the most part thankfully. I try to minimize the use MACROs now because they are a bear to support. Mostly use them now just for probing and automating machine functions.Heresy
Flipside of using them is keeping yourself workin when others cannot not as an AE tho
Ron,
So you got your setup runnin and kickin out parts ?
-
Ron,
Glad that was an easy solution for ya.
You get used to new machines with 300 offsets and probes and forget about variables used to stetch things out.
Verndog,
So many variables; shop temp, machine backlash and wear, pallets in and out, operator part loading errors etc....
.0005 won't work either cuz one of the other axis is gonna take away from that so you gotta have like .0002 jes messin
holdin .003 would be great with all the variables thrown in but I've seen that not be achieved as well.....
-
quote:My original is 100.NC, and the one that the control wrote was O00100.NC. This is also the same in the name at the beginning of the file, instead of being O0100 it is O00100.
So did you try just naming your test file the same way and running it? That would be an easy change to make permanent. I just looked at some old backups and all the programs are renumbered the same way.
-
JDowe,
If you have a regular V9 disc it should load with no sim and run in Demo Mode IIRC.
-
Ron,
You using a probe ? Could you probe one part using one offset per 3 part faces and then write the difference for the other 2 parts to variables ? Probe 1st part and write offset then just add #xxx + G54 to start on each part location.

quote:The only way I know of is to move/extend your geometry.
+1 extend your geo, add lines to the ends of the arc so you can start above and end off the rad, and your geo to drive along the rad can be extended at both ends so tool has clearance to enter and exit. I would put toolpath geo on a separate level as well.

As Pete mentioned above, Power Settings can cause this problem also. One of the old culprits is the USB power saving option which shuts off the sim and viola ! MC locks up, check power settings for USB ports and see if that helps.
