Or have one in the works?
One is in the works but due to the fragmentation in the android platform it makes it hard for small devs like me to release on the whole android platform. If I did it would be a very small device release
Please refer to this thread for all updates:

I haven't been working on it lately because I've been working on something else. Something big... I have an update for iPhone almost done. I could release it now but I wanna finish it first.

Post your results if you do buy it! All I've seen from fermi is heat issues and epic performance.
-
It's a manufacturing problem with the fermi chipset. In reality it doesn't matter much but nvidia should solve the heat issues soon.
Link related but is with the 480 gforce.

When you select "climb cutting", it doesn't actually climb cut the walls of the cavity.
So I wasn't goin crazy... Good to know I'm not the only one that noticed that. I just said F-it and set it to zig zag.
-
The only problem with the new Nvidia GPUs is the heat. They cook like no other just idling! If you're gonna purchase one, hold off for a bit.

I've noticed that it takes considerably longer to generate a toolpath than the HSM Area Clear
I've noticed that with opti-rough and hybrid.

all the same... it was very uncool and very unprofessionalThat's horse $#!+ and you know it Evil.
Ok, I apologize to everyone here and CNC software. If it's needed, I'll make a complete uninstallation guide for those who installed it and I'll take any repercussions that come with what I did. But legally, I'm safe because it was a general web visible file.
To CNC software: Please set up your file permissions correctly next time to stop @ssholes like me on ruining release day fun. (BTW, great job on X5! I love it!!! )

Just becasue you can, does not mean you should.
But that's the American way!!!

What? I'll say when apple is lacking in magic :cough: OS X Lion :/cough:

Mac's are fantastic computers but it depends on what you are doing in mastercam. When you bootcamp (dual boot but made more apple sounding) it basically is just a regular Windows PC. You can use virtualization software like VMWare fusion or parallels desktop but you loose a lot of horsepower doing so. I ran Virtual machines for years because we have a Mac powered office. I set up Xgrid (distributed computing network) and ran my windows virtual machine on 12 different computers (lol I was the first to break the 30 second Mcam benchmark record. ON A MAC!!!). If you do basic 2d/3d milling, you can use a mac just fine. Any high resolution 3d or multi axis work its better off to buy a windows computer.
I love my macs but they have their high points and low points. One of the biggest low points for mac though is engineering software. But autocad was just released on OS X so we might see CAD/CAM come back to the Mac platform (only if steve jobs doesn't make OS X a giant iPhone).

I am more interested in stability than performance.
Nvidia cards usually are very stable due to their awesome driver team. But don't waste your money on the 450. The 460 has a better price/performance ratio.

quote:Firefox had the MOST vulnerabilities but did correct them within 2-3 days of being reported.
Yea, stock firefox. What I said was modified firefox
quote:Safari was close behind but it takes Apple a full 2 weeks to address them after being reported! The conclusion of the Report was that Safari was the LEAST secure browser.Apple doesnt care about windows safari but on the mac platform, you'd have to download whatever virus/malware, mount dmg/mpkg, type in your root password and install it. Unix doesn't work like what most people are used to. The world of flyby malware don't exist in my perfect world of nix.

quote:IE is the most secure browser available now
Close, but no cigar.
I've tested IE9 and it still has all the flash exploits (not really their fault) and javascript flyby exploits (once again, not their fault). But what killed it for me is that they didn't build in a browser sandbox or at least sandbox their extensions.
Still cant beat Firefox 3.whatever + AdBlock + NoScript + NoFlash
Safari 5 is still up there though. Security through obscurity FTW!! lol

quote:To the guys that are under a minute on the benchmark, how do you get it to use more of resources when processing
Dual socket.
Setting processor affinity really wont do much. Processor affinity is more designed around multiple programs running and setting which active program has priority.

The only displays to ever buy. (and yes I recommended a dell display. Don't freak out, the world is not ending )

the only way to program
My superstitions:
Program only off solids :puts flame suit on:
Save before verify/posting
If over 200Mb, switch to bootcamp instead of virtual machines due to Xgrid being dead
Daily VM snapshots
Solids on level 1, wire on level 2, containment geometry on level 3. Always!
Don't use tool 13 and 7

But how can you have a real system if it is running a patched/antiquated kernel?

That's an understatement. I use it while drip feeding to my 91 akira seiki v5 and it still runs great.
