  1. the gts was the beginning of the xx9 series. It is almost pysically identical to the quadro 3700. Except for the id chip. Buy you can flash the bios on it with a 3700 quadro bios for it to work. But it tends to overheat afterward. Thats how I broke mine! lol

  2. leigh, riva tuner is a software mod to trick the nvidia drivers into thinking the card is a quadro. Basically you install rivatuner, tell it that the pci-e slot is this turning into this. Then reboot and install the quadro drivers. It works ok but its not a real quadro.

You can still do it up to the 8800 gt series. The rest are chip protected.

  3. jparis lied to me... The version I downloaded yesterday when someone posted the link to it wasnt a beta copy. It's the same version... frown.gif

Raid 1 will get you a little more system speed, but I would go with Raid 0 for greater reliability. The speed that you will sacrifice from 1 to 0 isn't much to worry about.

At home I run both. I run Raid 1 as the primary system and then ghost everything to the Raid 0 as a backup. The only difference from Murlin is that I use Acronis since Ghost won't work on XP-x64.

    .

You have it backwards. Raid 1 is just the same image on two hard drives. No system improvement. Raid 0 is splitting it onto two hard drives. Very fragile cuz each hd has 50% of your data. But you get twice the read/write speeds (in theory).

Plus if you run both at home, the raid 0 array should be your primary and the raid 1 should be your local copy.

I think I'll go bootcamp to start. I hear I need to create a partition for bootcamp, si?

    .

Go to utilities, then go to boot camp manager. You can set up your bootcamp partition there. just use the slider to adjust however much space you want on it. If you choose to 32Gb or less It will format it as FAT32 which will read and write faster than the standard NTFS. Then insert your disk, and click reboot! That easy!
