  1. As you can see I was in the other post. I have not made much progress but on another forum. I found out about using the skip function a bit although I have not tried it yet. But if you get any answer to your problem I would love to hear about it.
  2. Right now I just hand wheel the probe down to the surface after I zero out the Z on my control. Then put the shift in myself. I could do some probing while not in dynamic then some math but it seems like it would not be worth all the effort since I have very small run sizes 1-5.
  3. What type of work do you do? Just Curious. MC MR2 5 Axis Mazak VariAxis 630
  4. I can probe fine when not in dynamic so I think the problem is coming from the G54.2P1 Comand. Thanks,
  5. So I guess I have to keep getting into the machine with gage blocks stop the program enter the shift value then restart the program. Seems like the probe should be able to do this for me. Oh well Thank You,
  6. "This software can only be used in dynamic mode to measure component features and positions, it can not be used to update work shifts when G54.2 is active." I have a different probe cycle that sets my dynamic offsets. I am not trying to update a work offset just probe a Z surface then transfer this value with vraiables. But I can't get the probe to touch the surface? I have a Matrix control. Thank You,
  7. Hi All, I am trying to do some probing while I have dynamic rotation active on my 5 axis Mazak. But it is not working I keep getting probe errors. Probe Obstructed, probe fail. I am not sure I can probe while G54.2P1 is active to begin with so I don't know if its my code or the machine. Any help would be great. The goal of this probe cycle is to touch a cast surface and place the deviation of its location into my Z shift. I have included my probe cycle and drill cycle. 8. Hi All, I run a 5 axis Mazak Variaxis that I program with MC MR2 Multiaxis. When I program a probe cycle I do a manual entry of a text file into my MC program. I then go in the G code program and change the probe numbers to suite the part I am running. When I asked the powers that be if I could get MC to automate the process they told me it cost over a thousand bucks to get each probe cycle written into MC and the post. Does this sound corect? If so without spending that amount of money is my way of using the manual enty process that next best way to get probe cycles into my programs. Thank You, MC MR2 Multiaxis Renishaw OMP60 Probe
  9. Hi All, I am tring to relate how Mastercam post works compaired to Smartcam smf and tmp files. I used to edit Smartcam post files but when I look at Mastercam pst file I am lost. Is Mastercam post files much harder to work on than the Smartcam post files I am used to? Thanks,
  10. I have two questions. First I am programming a 5 axis mill so why does MC keep telling me I am using a work coordinate on two views. That is what I want to do to get my dynamic comp to work. Can I turn the alarm off? Second I have just begin to program 5 axis without a 5 axis toolpath. I am drawing a line then making a plane normal to the line. I then make my thread mill toolpath but I have to go into the planes tab and change all the values it is putting in the tool plane and comp plane to zeros to get the code to look correct. I also have to play around with the clearance value in the threadmill toolpath since there is no inc option for it. Is this a good way to do what I am doing? Thanks, MC X2 5Axis 630 Mazak Variaxis
  11. How would you thread mill a 5 axis part can you use the thread milling cycle? Right now I use 5 axis drill to drill and tap 5 axis parts but I do not see an option for thread milling. I can't seem to get mastercam to output the correct code to thread mill even on the side of a part or to do any operations other than 5 axis toolpath. I don't understand what I am doing wrong when I set planes up. I have read the help files and must still be missing something. Thank You, MasterCam X2 5 Axis Variaxis 630
  12. I am getting ready to start thread milling 1/4 - 1 NPT threads but have a few questions. Mastercam wants to know the the major dia of the ID threads but the Machinery Handbook gives me pitch dia of the beginning of the ext thread. So say for a 1/4-18 pitch NPT thread the dia in .47739 at a depth of .2278 at least thats what I think it is telling me. I want to run my thread mill down -.62 the thread mill dia on the tip is .331 How do I know what to enter for the major dia in Mastercam ? Thanks
  13. I was woundering is it possiable to get drill cycle values to come out as variables in the code? So could you get something like this G83 R.25+#139 Q.1 Z-1.0+#139 And would it work in 5axis drilling? Thank You,
  14. Any body else have any ideas? Thank You,
