  1. I had a similar issue with the tools created being saved as assemblies only. So I contacted my Mastercam reseller and they contacted Mastercam. Here is the solution they came up with and it works well. For integrated tool assemblies that have already been created in Mastercam, we found a way for you to extract them. In Mastercam, open the tool manager and then open the tool library that contains assemblies only. Right-click in the lower portion of the tool manager an choose Convert a library to text. Name the file and save it to a place you can find it again. This creates a text file that can be viewed in Notepad. This process strips the holder and leaves only tool information. You can then right-click in the lower portion of the tool manager again and choose Convert a library from text. Complete this process and save the file under a new name. All the steps above were done in Mastercam. Now open this tool library in the stand alone tool manager, it will only show the tools. The only thing that changes on the tool is the overall length gets cutoff at whatever the tool projection was when the tool was an assembly with the holder
  2. Are you using the threadmill toolpath? I currently use a drawn toolpath and 2D contour. However I experienced the same issue with the threadmill defined tool where the tool is offset from my toolpath. to correct this when creating a new tool I define the outside tool diameter as the actual tools outside diameter, then in the 2D contour toolpath Cut parameters I just put (1/2 the difference between the tools large diameter and small diameter) in the Stock to leave on walls field as a negative number.
  3. We use the utility religiously. We draw up the fixtures, parts and anything else we need to make a complete setup. We then create an STL file of the setup and run an verify session to insure everything is as it should be. In X3 it worked about 85% of the time. Very helpful.
  4. gcode Thanks for the advice. I tried both settings on an old STL file. Both attempts locked up. I made a new STL file with the new settings and it worked....only for the first session. Then I experienced the same thing as peon. CRASH!!!
  5. Is anyone experiencing problems with the 2D Toolpath parameter windows not refreshing when making changes? Example: if I load a new tool and change the drill cycle in the Define Tool window, then click on the green check mark to return back to the 2D Toolpath parameter window, it does not refresh the cycle box in the Cut Parameters window. The change only occurs when I either exit the 2D toolpaths window and reopen it or when I go back and view the drill cycle in the Define Tool window, then click on the green check mark to return back to the 2D Toolpath parameter window. Any thoughts?
  6. Is anyone else experiencing problems verifying STL files? I have 2 different terminals using different graphic cards and they both crash or lock up. I am not able to verify existing files I know worked in X3. Any thoughts?
