We use Mitsubishi thru coolant carbide drills with thru coolant. they work pretty good.

I would definetly go with the Makino S56... fast and reliable.

What version of Mastercam are you using? if you are using X4 try copy and paste the machine def and the control files anto the X4 cnc_machine folder.

USe a containment and pick the geometry you want milled and the surrounding geometry as drive surfaces...

Look into GARR die sinkers- www.garrtool.com/pdf/catalog_09.pdf Page 111...we use diameters .031" to .500" , from engraving to profiling roughing amd finishing of hardened h-13 on a makino mcb 1210 machining center and a makino s56 vert mill. Also look into the Iscar Multi-Master tooling. they have interchangebale tips with carbide shanks...

Yeah it keeps sayin that the post update file cnnot be found when i click on it. i just upgraded from x3 to x4 this morning. adn it didnt migrate c-ooks from x3 to x4.

Mitsubishi carbide drills work real well in hardened materials.

Whitney Tool is about a block down the road from where I work (Bedford Machine and Tool)... They Have some pretty good cutters.

Is block skip turned off on the machine? ours was doing that and we turned block skip on.... it doesnt return to home position after every op now.

X-X3 all have the option of editing tool. just highlight the tool in the tool pane that u are wanting to edit, right click ,and hit edit tool!

TRy looking at GARR mills. They make a wide variety of flat, bull, and ball e-mills. www.garrtool.com We use them for aluminum, H-13, copper brass, lexan and alot other stock.

Try also, www.tipsformanufacturing.com we purchased the 3 disc set for x-x2... they also have the training discs for X3.. reasonably priced.
