  1. The statement I made about version 3.2 was only to make a point of how long I have been using MasterCam. The post issues came when I went from V9.0 to V9.1. I hope your programers do not read this Andrew. :-) good luck with your budget.
  2. Gary, I have been an avid user of MasterCam since version 3.2. The company I work for has 8 seats of 9.1. I agree somewhat to what you are saying about the maintenance agreement. But, I have to see the big picture when talking about upgrades. I am not only one of the users but also the system administrator. Post processors are the biggest nightmare. I currently run 37 different custom posts. When upgrades or patches (fixes) become available, they cause a lot of work for my dealer and me. Version 9.1 had several issues that affected my post from version 9.0. I have yet to apply the two service packs for 9.1 since can’t risk the impact to my post. Service pack 1 did not even have a description of what it changed. Most MasterCam users see upgrades as “new cool stuff”; I myself see them as a major implementation. I use several third party Chooks (e.g. Project Manager, CIMMC-Pro, CIMMC-UG, Unfold), these never get upgraded until months after a new release. How do I now go to management and ask to budget a annual $5000.00 maintenance cost for the software I was told would never have any?
  3. We are acquiring a newer Mitsubishi 5-axis gantry type machine. I would like to have a good machine model to effectively use Vericut with this machine ( the nutating head is somewhate delicate and expensive to repair if crashes occur). The bridge is fixed and the table moves to accomplish -x- travel. The -z- motion is accomplished by the entire -y- cross slide moving up and down on the bridge (as opposed to a -z- slide attached to the -y- slide). The -y- slide goes to and fro across the bridge. Would any of you have or know anyone that might have this machine already modeled for Vericut? PS. Sorry I don't have one of those cool things to display at the end of my message. :-)
  4. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the Canned cycle times are incorrect when using the graphical version of the setup sheet in V9 SP1. If I don't use the graphical version and just use the mill.set file it works fine. The contour operations times are correct. Its not just one of my post doing it, all 12 of them do it. I tried the HTML version but it takes up to many pages when you print. Help guys....
  5. I have a small batch file that will convert the whole directory. Give me an address to send it to and its yours..
  6. Does anyone have a reverse post for a Cincinnati Milacron Acramatic 900 Control? I have several operator edited files on the machine that I would like to read back into MasterCam V9.
  7. Does anyone know of a translator to bring in .drw (ProE drawing files)into MasterCam???? Thanks
  8. I posted it to the ftp://mastercam:[email protected]/Ma...cified_uploads/ Thanks for your help with the video problems. The guys here thought the files were great. If anyone has anymore of these helpful video files please post them for all to see. A picture is worth a thousand words. It seems like the older you get the smaller the words are in the manuals.
  9. I will upload the "work offset and.avi" to your FTP site if you like. This file shows how to create work offsets with the new WCS. I think it shows more then the other.
  10. If you also look in the same directory you will see another file called "work offset and.?" If you change the ext. to .avi it will work also. I hope this helps ya'll as much as it did me. The help files were not much help on the new WCS.
  11. I found it on MasterCams FTP site. Here is the address. Its called WCS Demo.avi ftp://ftp.mastercam.com/CustomerExchange/
  12. The advantage to the UG converter by Cad Cam-E is that it will read in the tool paths also. We use both the UG and Pro-E converter and they work great. Website http://www.cadcam-e.com
  13. I seen a file on the FTP site called WCS ?.avi When I downloaded it and try to view all I get is voice. Has anyone else seen this? If you listen to the file it talks as if you are watching him.
