How do I make the base of my model bigger. When i bring in some stl files art won,t mill all the way around things. If i can increase the base my cutter can get there
I'm trying to merge stl files together. how do i get mastercam to see both models at the same time?..............what I mean is,when I go to cut them in art machining it only mills the original model.............I've been waiting and waiting to see ART updates as mastercam has gone from X4 to now X9,has there been any that warrant me spending money on an update of my sim?
Thank You
I can do that with the models I now create........................................but the art models I have are in English and do not scale or convert properly. Can't just throw away 1000s of hours of work.
Thank you JParis
If you have art you can bring in an stl file and work with it.Most of the time an stl file opens up in mastercam as a wireframe. If you don't have art I do.I'd be happy to open it and save it as surfaces for you.Art doesn't always give you exactly what you are looking for though.

Not really...........everything does seem to come out like a cartoon.I purchased Aspire it does a better job by far. Also there have been no updates to art.daniel92568
In The woodworkers forum there is a post about Drape for V9.........It I supposed to cover a wire frame.Such as an stl file that is too complex to create surfaces inart
What do I have to do to get my post to put out I and J instead of R?This is for X4
Also,is there a "Drape"c hook for MX4?

using the coarse selection cuts down most of that I found by looking at help in ART.
Is it worth my while to spend a lot of money to update my sim when I'm only looking for art
In X4 art..How do you bring in the file and 1...not have ragged edges every where....and 2 not have it take forever to convert
I'm using art file to bring it in.I have a very very strong video card and 4 gigs ram on my puter.
also,Is there anything done to art over the last few updates that will make it better?
Thank You

I was hoping someone could tell me how to take an old MC9.1 post from an old puter and bring it into X5mu1.I don't think I'm looking in the right places in help or documents.
Thanks

I get that message.I asked my reseller and he said it wouldn't be a good idea to keep 2 sessions open. The fear is lost entries on one or the other session
Does X5 allow you to have multipal sessions of mastercam open and working on them.X4 has problems with that.Working on 3 machines at a time would be a lot easier and mistake free if I could do this like I could in X3

Hello All,
I'm wondering how I can get additional help for MC Art.
I've done Streamingteacher.com and I've been to training through my reseller.
I'm still unable to make "lifelike" models.
Is there any updates for art on the horizon.
Or should I try to find another software that will help me creat the models I want?
Thank You
Ron Feidler
I'm looking for any tips that can make my modeling easier and nice.I'm have a deal of trouble getting my photographs to look like I want them in Art.No problem getting them into art.The problem is getting the detail and the depth scale to be more to my liking.I bought this especially to do custom portraits.I have used simple drawings and the Art library to build models. With the power it has on those drawings I guess I just think I can do better on photos.
All advice is welcome please.I have Corel picture software and also using GIMP (an excellent program)to do my editting.
