  1. I have a Mazak i700 and I have a inhouse machine simulator I bought with the post in X9. I am working with some large fixtures and full 5 axis (think tomestone) and I want to get the tool change position correct. Right now the tool just stays in position and changes. That shows a crash. Our machine runs production non stop and I need to be sure all my tools clear before I intro new parts. I know I should be running Vericut but I never got that running right either. Since I have seen full tool changers simulated I hope this is a simple one. Thanks Edit: I assumed this was a setting, InHouse fixed me up with a post edit.
  2. I am trying to work with inhouse on this but I can not send files do to the information that is in them. I did send the some screen captures but I can not post that on line. I hope someone from CNC sees this. This has to have something to do with temp files. I found not only if I use "Save As" it fixes the issue but if I just move the file from one sub folder to another in windows explored when I open the file the errors are fixed.
  3. This is real buggy, The issue showed up again this morning and opening it in another machine did not fix it. I saved the file off to another name again and it works fine.
  4. You want to give your Haas dealer a call. They sell a package. You may need the software update in your machine to run the newest renishaw macros. Renishaw also sells a standalone program system but if you are just starting out with basic stuff you can just use their existing Macros and fill in the variables. Our local dealer offers training in using the standard macros. I combined that with the software update and the install so we got everything for 8 hours of service call. If you are going to use this for inspection I would suggest the Reishaw Ball Bar tester to keep an eye on the machine. It is not as good as laser calibration but if someone bumps something and tweaks the machine it will tell you. I still do not think it would pass an aerospace audit as acceptable inspection method even with a gage R&R but at least you have a much better feel for what you are sending into QA.
  5. Has anyone has issues with machine sim moving the raw stock around on you. I have been building a tomestone type fixture for the last few days and it is a large project. A couple hundred layers 50 or so WCS. Machine sim has been handling it like a champ but today it got real buggy on me. I have the fixture, raw stock(s) and finshed parts all controlled by layers and when I went to check machine sim all the raw stocks where rotated 40 degs out of position. I shut down MC and restarted it and it fixed it. A hour or so later it did it again. This time restarting it did not fix it. I rebooted it but the error was still there. I saved off a copy of the file to zip it up and sent it to my support but when I opened the saved file it was fine.but even after multiple saves and closes the original file would not fix itself What I did find it the original file is that if I switch to another machine then switch it back to my machine it clears it up. It seems like a swap file is getting corrupted but it is funny in that it is always the same error. I am wondering if others have seen this or is this a issue with my system.
  6. I am looking for a desk top CNC router to use to de-gate Carbon Fiber parts. It does not need to be supper accurate but I would like something that can hold up to a lot of hours and be dependable and I can get parts for. Seems like there is a sea of the China made ones, I need a reliable one.
  7. Thanks Gcode that worked.. Paul if you read this lets just keep this between us
  8. I kind of figured that. What be the point of the Sim date if there was a easy work around.
  9. I was messing around with the date on my computer trying to figure something out. I was not trying to change the date I was just using the calendar part. First I ended up switching it to 2009 then in my quick attempt to fix it I switched back to 2011. Yea I know, I tried to start MC and I got a Sim out of date error. I went back to the date and fixed it and now I get “Date was changed” Sim out of date error. Any ideas on how to fix this? I am in on a Sunday with a project I need done by morning. I can all Prism in the AM but I need this working now. Man, I am going to look like such a moron in the morning. Don’t get me wrong I know I am a moron but I think I have a lot of people fooled.
  10. I started with 5 axis curve, It allows me to adjust start point. I also compt to a surface which seems to have given me the cleanest code so far.
  11. I tired swarf cut. I got pretty much the same thing but it would not let me edit the start point. I then found my Geometery was .00002 off Zero in the X. I fixed that. I am still get a ton of moves but many of the moves are .001 degree B and .0001" X & Y moves Sample: N950 X-4.7621 Y-0.8737 C131.657 N960 Y-0.8738 B29.084 C132.144 N970 Y-0.8739 C132.632 N980 Y-0.8741 C133.120 N990 X-4.762 Y-0.8742 C133.606 N1000 Y-0.8743 B29.083 C134.094 N1010 Y-0.8744 C134.581 N1020 Y-0.8745 C135.069 N1030 Y-0.8746 C135.557 N1040 B29.082 C136.045 N1050 C136.534 I am thinking I am going to hand edit it.
  12. I need to cut a groove that is .017 wide and 20 degees cocked off the Z plane. 80% of the grove is a radius around zero. I have programmed it using Curve 5-axis. I created a chain on the centerline of the path and another chain offset and above at the 20 degs. The cut looks great in verify but in code its is a bunch of XYZ, BC moves. For the radius part i would like to see an X value B value and Y zero and a big C move to rotate the table. Since it is a .017 endmill all these small move are snaping endmills. Is there a way to control this? Sample code (Current) N370 X-3.8302 Y-0.7378 Z-2.3403 B38.311 C96.655 N380 X-3.8307 Y-0.7499 Z-2.3382 B38.262 C96.217 N390 X-3.8347 Y-0.7452 Z-2.3359 B38.215 C95.949 N400 X-3.8356 Y-0.7559 Z-2.3337 B38.164 C95.524 N410 X-3.8377 Y-0.7615 Z-2.3314 B38.113 C95.151 N420 X-3.8398 Y-0.7666 Z-2.329 B38.061 C94.782 N430 X-3.8427 Y-0.7689 Z-2.3266 B38.010 C94.442 N440 X-3.8456 Y-0.7707 Z-2.3242 B37.958 C94.106 N450 X-3.85 Y-0.7651 Z-2.3217 B37.907 C93.845 N460 X-3.8529 Y-0.7674 Z-2.3193 B37.855 C93.504 N470 X-3.8565 Y-0.7656 Z-2.3168 B37.803 C93.204 N480 X-3.8589 Y-0.77 Z-2.3144 B37.751 C92.842 N490 X-3.8596 Y-0.7825 Z-2.312 B37.697 C92.399 N500 X-3.8641 Y-0.7764 Z-2.3096 B37.648 C92.144 N510 X-3.867 Y-0.7773 Z-2.3072 B37.598 C91.818 I am working on X3 my post is by MLC CAD Systems for a DMU70 Thanks in advance
  13. I think I filled it I was away for 2 years. There was some talk about adding another one. You could send in a resume. Thanks for the code Jim!
  14. Controler is a Heidenhain MillPlus IT (2004) Post is from MLC My Mastercam verison is in my sig. I grab the programmers manual and will do some research. It would be nice if I could do this in master cam but if I have to manually program this one part it is not a big deal.
  15. Hi, all I am not really new to the forum I was just away for a little while. I did two years with a seat of Esprit. Well I am back and I am now programming DMU’s. I would like to probe some features and create an origin point for my program. Where do I start? I assume this is macro code, does anyone have a generic sample. Should I be looking at training from DMG? I did a search but did not find out much. I was most likly using the wrong words. Links would be great Machines are DMU 50’s and a 70 with Heidenhain controlers. I have the renishaw probe (MP10) Thanks in advance.
