  1. Eric, Thanks to the "Brotherhood" (circle) you have answered another question..peace
  2. Okay fellows, I want to post ops 5 thru 9 and MC ax me if i want to POST ALL and i sez NO. For some reason it leaves out ops 8 and 9. i did copy and paste op 5 to make ops 8 and 9. does this have anything to do with it not posting? The green checks disappear from 8 and 9 ops when prompted to POST ALL. What am i missing???? Thanks in advance
  3. Hardmill, my thoughts exactly!! The GM finally got the owner to order the parts from okuma. Should be running agian by Monday.
  4. the internal splines are jacked up as well as the shaft.
  5. Splines on the hydralic pump motor shaft are gone and machine is down. This machine is the heartbeat of the shop. Very expensive from Okuma around 5g's. Gonna try and fix it ourselves before dropping the cash. Anyone know where i can find good used parts and get them here quickly.
  6. Zoober you've got mail. thx G Quickmike, I thought of that
  7. I have a horizontal machine with a Haas rotary table and chuck. I do hundreds of different parts, lengths and diameters. I do face work as well as radial work on all parts. The problem I'm having is that we have about 25 sets of soft jaws we use for these parts and they may be machined to suit a particular part. When i use MC to create a toolpath everything is good until the next person comes in behind me and cuts those jaws up which will change my lengths for my saved program. I need MC to calculate from center of Haas to face of part no matter what jaws I'm using. Can i put a calculation in the post. There is a constant of 9.1558 from center of Haas to face of chuck. Somehow i need to add jaw length and part length without having to manipulate the MCX file everytime??? mpmaster post....Thought i would try here first maybe not get laughed at quite as bad
  8. I tried the swept2R chook and yes there it was "one way" but i have know idea what happened to the toolpath after regen. Does not follow the same toolpath as zig-zag (at all). Just trying to learn a little bit about this option.
  9. Is the zig zag toolpath the only option for this feature? looking for one way toolpath
  10. "Also, where should I get a good starting point for tapping depth." Another thing you want to consider on depth is coast of the machine (VMC). We have old machines so we have to watch that.
  11. # Generate string for spindle, lathe sm04 : "M04" #Spindle reverse - no coolant sm05 : "M05" #Spindle off - no coolant sm03 : "M03" #Spindle forward - no coolant sm14 : "M14" #Spindle reverse - coolant sm05c : "M05" #Spindle off - coolant sm13 : "M13" #Spindle forward - coolant spindle_l : "" #Target string fstrsel sm14 g_spdir spindle_l 6 -1 (JTG 7:29 AM 11/19/2009) This is what i have. I changed "fstrsel sm04 to fstrsel sm14" . I tried what you suggested and it still did not output in my first op.
  12. This post does not output m14 in the first op??? Works fine in every op after that not a post guru. using x4
  13. Hey everyone, We have a Conquest 42 with a ot control. Using x4 lathe level 1 what post should i start with? Thanks in advance
  14. Im in a full nelson with level 1 right now and i think its going to win! Wish i had level 3. some of this sh!! might not be so hard
  15. Leigh, If i can get a solid model. I will put it on the fpt. site. Did you see the photo on the fpt. site under "all pictures"? (cbs718_pic.jpg). This may not be enough see what it is i need but you can get an idea. I appreciate your time
  16. we have solidworks 2001. how will this help with the toolpath? I have never used it. I will download it to my pc and play with it. would i have everything to do this in level 2?
  17. no surfaces, but somebody mentioned wireframe 2d swept? send a gps cause im lost
  18. htm01, the print is on the site (cbs718-ms.mcx) thanks for your time
  19. htm01, kannon I see what you guys are talking about(tip and center) and both sides are the same. I failed to say that in my first post. I should have marked both sides yellow. The yellow arrow is a 43. deg. angle. I think it has something to do with how i'm driving the tool down this angle using tapered walls. The yellow mark to the right if you notice is an arc just like whats on my geo. What you see in the picture is what that file produced. i will try and post the print
  20. htm01, kannon sorry i got click happy. The jpg. file is under the pictures icon when you first open the fpt. site. Kannon, when i use verify it appears that it cuts that slot to deep, but at the machine it does not. probably a geo problem.
  21. Hello everyone, This is the first time for me to use the ftp site. I have uploaded a file (cbs718_radial.mcx)and a picture (cbs718_pic.jpg). Im using x4 mill level 1 to create this pocket. On the pic there is a yellow line to the right and it is not perpendicular to the face of the part. This is the only thing that is holding me up. Looking at my geo is there a better way or easier way for me to get this done. If you need more info let me know Thanks for any help
  22. Hey fellas, I heard the boss talking about buying a small 5-axis machine (Hurco VTXU). I assume it will be conversational programming so MC will not work? Pros and Cons on Hurco? Price range is an issue not much more than 100 g's. Any other options for that price range? Thanks Homeys
