  1. I am importing solids and surfaces from catia (v5) using the moldplus translator. My question is, where does the color for the generated solid come from? The surface colors are the same in mastercam as they are in catia, however the solid body is always blue no.9. I have checked the moldplus side, and the mastercam side, and cannot see where it is getting that color from! I don't want to change the body color every time. Any ideas? 2. quote: also.. open the config file from the machine that works and the config file from your machine side by side in a text editor and compare them. I did that... I saw HUGE differences. Deleted my config file, re-launched. Problem solved. This forum is a life saver. Thanks all!
  3. Locks up... Status= "Not Responding" in task manager.
  4. I can't seem to get my computer to open a file. I don't think it's a problem with the file, because I had the guy next to me (with an identical computer) open it without any problem. It's about an 8000kb die detail with 300 or so surfaces. It's a catia v5 converted part. I have no trouble opening larger (10000kb) files. I have been programming parts like this for the past week, without any problem. Then I seem to have hit a wall. Rebooting/reinstalling didn't help. x4 mu3 Level 1 w/ solids using moldplus catia translator
  5. I've been tasked with finding a source for new plexy glass for our machine. I assume it's not standard grade hardware store plexy. Any suggestions? Thankx.
  6. "We have Mpmaster post and it works great with HPCC. Off in drilling toolpaths and ALWAYS on in other toolpaths, like it should be." This sounds like what I should be doing. My post editing is limited to adding lines for coolant cancel. Is this something I should try to tackle myself? I would like to better understand this post stuff. Thank-you all for your input so far.
  7. Is it possibe to have the post processor output the high speed command (G05P1000R10)...on, (G05P0)...off, using a swich/button in the toolpath parameters page? I don't want it to come on every tool change. Just fot the 2d high speed toolpaths. I want it to be OFF by default, then ON with a check box. I am using a barely modified genaric 4 axis fanuc post. 8. Is anyone else experiencing a 2 to 3 second delay between clicking the parameters tab, and having the window open up? Running x4 on 64 bit XP Pro Sp2 Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz 4GB of RAM
  9. Hello all, My comapany just issued a P.O. for 2 seats of level 1 mastercam mill, 2 seats of pro-drill and a CATIA translator. Manufacturing mostly die details. I am a 4yr. experienced toolpather, but brand new to mastercam. Anything you guys think I should do or know. Maybe things you wish you knew ahead of time, or had to learn the hard way. If I could learn from others experiences, that would be great. Thanks in advance!!
