  1. Logitech G700 RMB, LMB, Center scroll plus 9 more assignable. Copy, Paste, File open, File save, Enter, Escape, Delete, all on my mouse!
  2. So here's the story, 2 days ago, I do a disk cleanup on C: drive, maybe irrelevant, but I don't know. Yesterday, mastercam takes a long time to open, like 45 seconds, and another 30 to open a part file. I figure it just needs a reboot. No biggie, I say. I'll shut 'er down at the end of the day. As per usual. that will be my restart. Today I fire her up and it takes FOREVER! I'm talking, 1-1/2 minutes just to launch mastercam. And another minute to open a file. I figure something got dumped during the disk cleanup. (?) So I do a complete uninstall/re-install of mastercam. Restart PC, restart mastercam, SAME THING!? I try all the usual stuff, to no avail. I'm stumped. So then I start really thinking... What's different today vs. yesterday? Someone downloading a HUGE file. No, can't be. But what have I got to loose? So I unplug the ethernet cable. Yahtzee! That did it. Confirmed multiple times. Further narrowed it down to the "customer feedback program." Turned that off, stayed plugged in, and started as usual. So, all that to ask, Why is the customer feedback program causing me to open slowly? Sorry for rambling. I'm very excited that I got this far! 3. I've got an M6600 from the dell outlet 128GB SSD with 750GB HDD i7 @ 2.30GHz 16.0GB 1600mhz Nvidia Quadro 4000m BD/RW Windows experience index 7.2 Runs mastercam, CATIA and all the others (outlook, excel) simultaneously without issue. Got it for just over half of what it would have been otherwise. I'm happy with it.
  4. Just curious if anyone out there is using this system. Specifically the manual breyl clamps. http://www.fcssystem.com/manual_breyl_system.php http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zDz5k13WZMU Thoughts?
  5. ....Nice I'd be very interested to find out why.
  6. In windows XP I had a keystroke macro to "edit common parameters" in the operations manager. It would set all my WCS's and NC file name the same for all op's in the selected group. The macro would right click, arrow, tab, and enter into the wcs field, input a value, and exit back to the "edit common parameters" window. Then do the same for "NC name." Then exit the "edit common parameters" window, back to the operations manager. All with one button. Now, in W7, I can right click, tab, and arrow to the check box, but when I hit enter, it jumps to the green check, and exits the "edit common parameters" window. Does anyone know what keystroke will open the dialog boxes in the "edit common parameters" window?
  7. +1 on bounding box. We do a lot of die details. Bounding box drives 2/3 of my chains. Top and bottom.
  8. Always choose no also. IIRC the first release of x4 disabled this. Then it came back. I would love to see it GO AWAY!!
  9. I just spec'd out a laptop with comperable (as close as possible) components to the M6600 I ordered from the outlet. Price was $593 more than what I paid. I'm not saying it's better or worse, I'm saying it's better for me.
  10. How about a forum for computer hardware, so people can post their experiences with different brands and components. Or would that just turn into "your _____ sux, and my ____ is the best."
  11. Thanks for the replies. I ended up with a Dell M6600 from the outlet. I forgot to mention that I also run catia. Our full time cad guy said I needed a quadro card for catia. So taht was a deal breaker. Shrug. I think I did OK with the 6600 though.
  12. Do you use viewsheets? Sound like it could fit you need. I have a template file with 7 viewsheets. Each setup with different active levels, visable levels, color, WCS's, line type.... Works great for multiple wcs programming.
  13. Thinking about an ASUS G74SX-A2. Does anyone have any exterience with the asus brand? I think the specs would be more that adequate. Looking for a thumbs up or down from the guru's.
