  1. I would look at the robodrill also. Its a Great Machine for small parts.

    G107 or G7.1

Thanks for the reply. It doesnt seem to matter. I manually wrote the program with G2 and G3 and it is still rough as a cobb.
  3. Is it possible to get mastercam to output arc moves while using the g107 or g7.1. I am machining on a tapered diameter. Using X4.
  4. I did this as Randy said.
  5. I think you are talking about going to cut depths and adjusting to top of cut. Maybe this will help
  6. The center of the endmill backplots right on the tool path but the leading and trailing edge cuts the corners off. what do I need to do to stop this?
  7. I am using a face contour path for a square on the end of the partand it works fine but I need to move toward the chuck and cut a Hex. Need to do it with a radial cutter.
  8. Sorry maybe I should say that I am trying to cut a hex on the lathe.
  9. I am using the C axis contour Tplane:TOP
  10. OK, I cut the part on the machine and it looks just like the backplot. Like a hexagon balloon. Anyone have any ideas on just what I'm doing or not doing to cause this.
  11. When I make a C axis contour toolpath and try to backplot, it shows the endmill cutting the corners off. Is this a backplot issue or is this a operator issue.

    5 axis

Thanks for all the help. I did get the part ran. Had to use a 3 mm ball mill. I do still have some issues with undercutting due to chatter in the corners. But thanks for the help.
  13. We do this in our shop. We use 512 PCMIA cards with the adapter. Works great.
