  1. Is it an internal tool or a face groover? it looks like a face groover. make sure you have your tool orientation correct. you could try using a standard groover make and go into tool setup and make it horizontal. after that you're gonna want to hit the draw tool button and see if you have it oriented the way you need it. its also a good way to tell if you'll have to touch it off on the top or the bottom of the insert.
  2. at the bottom of the parameter page you have a row of check boxes with compensation over them select the box on the right then push the button that says tool clearance on it and change the parameters for width and height to what you need. if you are using a tool with a radius be sure to set that on the geometry page for that tool.
  3. Is it a drawn on a level or did you select a groover from a list of tools and want to change insert size?
  4. I keep having a problem where Mastercam x4 will change my tool numbers to T00 on the operation manager page i.e. T0101 will become T0001 T0800 will become T0008. If I reselect the Parameter for the op I am using that tool on and open up the tool on the Toolpath Parameter page it will say the tool number is 1 offset numbers are 1 as well. Then if I select OK on the tool parameters then OK on the toolpath parameter they will go back to T0101 on the operations manager. Its only a problem if I dont catch them before I post them out. In which case it will post as T0001. It only seems to want to do this on lathe and not on every tool.
  5. it does it when any software other than mastercam is open. outlook, excel, word, explorer, pagebreeze. anything. which makes me think its a mastercam issue.
  6. I'm working on my laptop right now which has an nvidia geforce go 6150 in it. I have the same issue on my desktop as well, but I dont recall what it has in it. I tried the GDI setting but I had the same issue with it as the OpenGL so I switched it back. Im currently running X4 but Ive had this problem for a while. Its not a major issue, all i have to do is switch back to mastercam and continue what i was doing. But it would be nice to not have to do that everytime I need to change something.
  7. Anyone else having a problem where if you have anything running to the right of mastercam in the task bar and you have to go back to select some geometry the screen jumps to the other running program. i.e. you are running mastercam and mozilla in your taskbar. In mastercam you need to go back and select some containment geometry, as soon as push the arrow button to select the geometry the screen jumps to the mozilla screen???
