I think that having filter on will combine colinear moves won't it?
thanks,

you're not kidding easy.... I hate to admint it, but I did another one yesterday the "other" way before I figured I'd ask the forum..... DOOOOHHHH
thanks again, and don't tell management bout that change recognition thingie....

oh'man thats sweeeet, John I can't thank you enough, took all of 1 1/2 minutes.....regenerating... maybe slightly longer.
-
hmmm, I'm gonna have to go back and click one click further, when I got to the re-selection part I stopped because I wasn't going to do them all now and did not want to stop 1/2 way thru..... I'll let you know in a minute...

john,
I did try that and it looks to me that when you select the re-chain Icon it pulls up the std curve 5ax dialogue box to re select the surface(s), so it seems to be one at a time,... its pretty slick that it found the new surface in the first place, bet it won't take to long to do them all at once...

nah, that won't work in this situation the operations are curve 5ax with the surface(s) as tool axis and comp to, with different curves but thanks for the replys.

Hi All,
I have a file that uses the same surface for about 100 or so tool paths and I need to change the surface to a new one, my question is is there a way to "assign" this new surface to the existing tool paths easily? (easily meaning all at once)
thanks,

PT1VZ1,
I was told you can't get arc output using curve 5ax (g code 11) because it is always segmented internally.

With the Haas control I think you can use a M97 and keep everything in the same file.

Maybe put a M0 at the begining of the DO loop and look at #152 to make sure it is acting as expected...

git-r-done,
I think there is a some sort of problem with your geometry, It does go "screwy" when changing stock to zero, still looking at it, you may want to send it to qc also...

Bryan,
I was aware of the V9 part, I cut and pasted your reverse post options and it worked! I guess I changed something by mistake, all is good for now
thanks again.
-
this is strange, I know I used to NOT have to change posts, however if I do change to rpfan I do see the "reverse" option... soo I geuss I'm all set on this one.... I just don't understand why.
thanks to all for your help,

Thanks Lee and Hardmill,
I'll try that tomorrow and maybe bump this thread and see if I can coax someone from CNC's post dept to chime in, it's really a handy tool for programs that were done long ago by hand and need to be updated. I just don't know what I did to stop it from working....
thanks again,

can you go from both sides?

lee,
I don't think so, besides like I said it WAS working from "nc utils", "post proc", now its just not the, only "change" and "run" show at the top, and I double checked the text file and Re&verse is there.... I have also recently started getting the " parasolid kernel interface error, KI error code 931-stamod must be first call to K1" when exiting V9 and the file has solids.

Hi All,
I've used rreverse posting many times before, but now it is not a menu choice! I swear it was there a month ago, I do have
in the txt, but it does not show in the menu, anyone have any ideas?
-
you only need to post it to get the new cnc code.

Better check on that John, AFAIK you do not. You get a yellow ! indicating posting is out of date.

I think for a Fadal rigid tap you need:
T0 M6 (RH-TAP )
G8
F300.2 M5 M90
G84.2
G0 G90 X-4.1526 Y-2.3608
H0 Z.1
G84.1 G99 X-4.1526 Y-2.3608 Z-1. R0.1 Q.0625 F300.2
G80
G0 M5
Fxxx.xx is speed and range
Q is lead
G84.2 is prep for rigin tap
G84.1 rigid tap

if I remember correctly the Z value (in turning and X in facing) distinguishes between a type 1 and type 2 cycle, probably have to remove that.
Jg

DavidSv,
does your control support type 2 canned roughing cycles (undercuts in 1 axis)? or only type 1 (no undercuts) ?

Robstar,
I use MasterCam for our 5 axis laser programming (along with UG sometimes), I modified the MpGen5x pst and it works excellent. If it is a head/head machine you need to watch for the rotary(s) filpping 180 deg during the cut, MpGen5x has provisions for this that work great. Good luck!

as far as I know, yes, but I suppose that depends on the post. the alternate would be
G41
G1 Xxx Yyy
G40
but I think alot of machines will put the comp on during the move, not before the move.
