Hi Greg, David.
Bob has sent us a fix today.
He has changed our machine definition and if we set Mi to 1 we will get a toolchange.
Looks promising. At least he is looking at it for us. We haven't checked too much yet but it looks better.
Thanks for the offer of help.
Greg
The G13 came from the post update. I have had a look at the machine definition and changed a few things thinking I will delete the lower turret (it was showing a lower turret) and I may have stuffed things up a bit. I haven't done anything to the machine definition as it looks a bit daunting after using V9. I think I had better delve into the help files a bit. I just read the Mastercam getting started manual but this didn't explain much of the settings.
It still posts a G13 and still doesn't call up a tool.
We have a problem with our post for an Okuma LB15ii lathe with on OSP 7000 control. It has a C axis as well.
We have 20 seats of Mcam. (Education institution) 15 are still V9, a couple of X2 and a couple of X3. (We have budget restrictions)
We want to upgrade them all to X4 but our lathe post does not work and our reseller either can't or won't supply one that works in X2 or X3.
Our reseller changed the V9 post the way we wanted it. When we got X2 we used the Updatepost.dll file to update the post.
It seems to have worked ok for our mill but the lathe has problems. We have been in contact with our reseller and he has sent us another post that doesn't work. I think originally we used the MPLOSP7 in V9 and our reseller customised it to suit us.
This has been going on for ages.
The main problem is the start of each tool. It doesn't call up a tool at all.
This is what is coming up at the start.

The end of each tool is not correct as well but if we could get the first bit done its a start.

There doesn't seem to be any setting for the dimensions highlighting.
When you change the Settings/configuration/colors/Auto-Highlight color it doesn't change the color when dragging a dimension (on my machine anyway).
It changes the color when selecting etc but not a dimension.
Is that the setting that should be changed?
Hi
I am trying to dimension a 2d drawing and when it asks to sketch the text position I cannot see the dimension. In V9 it used to be a very light grey but I cannot even see it in MCX.
Is there any way I can change some setting to see when I drag the dimension. I can't see any setting in configuration. I remember I had to turn off Open GL in V9 to see it a bit clearer but it doesn't make any difference mcx.
I am on my old laptop at home its a HP nx9010 3.06GHz 768M RAM graphics is RADEON IGP 345M (whatever that is?)
My background color is white as I am trying to prepare some drafting lessons in mcx and am pasting into word.
Can I change this color?
Thanks
Kevin
Hi
I use ncdatasheet on my mill V9.1 and thought I may use it on the lathe (V9.1) but it keeps coming up with an error "No valid operation selected".
I did a search of previous posts and no one has referred to using this on the lathe.
Does it work on lathe?
If it does work on the lathe do I have to do anything different?
Thanks
Kevin Barry
Thanks Storkman. Thats easy.
gcode, I didn't know about the "Verbose" in backplot. I have neve used it before.
This forum is the best help file out.
Thanks for the quick excellent replies.
Hi
Can you change the feedrate along a profile or chain, when finishing on a lathe. We have shafts that have different feedrates along their profile. For example where the oil seal goes it is fine feed, then further along it changes to a coarse feed, then again it may change back to a fine feed.
Using V9 or V9.1
Thanks
Kevin Barry
Hi DavidB
I'm also from down under (Newcastle) and use the MPLOSP7C post, which Bob Hill modified for us.
We have an Okuma LB15 with C axis and OSP7000L.
We haven't tried the C axis on Mastercam yet. We use V9.1
As jeff said the post says it does C axis so I just assumed it was OK.
When we purchased Mastercam from Bob Hill he did tell us to check the C axis and he would customise for us if we were not happy. I didn't get around to check C axis part but the rest is good.
We had a few new machines and a lot going on, maybe I should check.
What am I in for?
Regards
Kevin Barry
Thanks Hardmill
After reading that I turned off OpenGL and the color is better, it is now grey.
I will try at work tomorrow to see the difference there.
I searched the database for a solution before I posted here but to no avail.... I guess I didn't know the correct question!!!
Thanks again for taking the time to help me.. Much appreciated.
Regards
Kevin Barry
OK
Here at home I am using NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 by the looks of it with Win XP Pro.
At work the problem is still the same and we have Standard Compaq PC's about 18 months old (P4 1.5G processor 512MB RAM) with on board video I think, not sure what type, but we use Win 2000 there.
Thanks so far.
