  1. Hi All We are have some decusion about different ways to do set-up sheets. This place has eight different people doing them eight different way. Could I get some input or maybe you could e-mail me some samples in word pad form at [email protected]
  2. We have a old eztrak mill that we can not communicate with . We are currently using ez-cam software dated 1984 to communicate to this machine. The eztrak machine does not link up like the fanuc controls . Ez-cam must be ready to communicate and then you go to the machine and call out the program # you want and you can keep call out programs until you reset the computer. Is there something I need to change in Mastercam or something in the machine ?
  3. On owr om control to set it up for drip feed you need to put the control im the memory mode then press the DNC button. The screen will turn blank, press the single block button, then the cycle start. You should get a LSK flashing in the right lower corner, just like you would if you was ready to recieve, got to mastercam and start sending then the LSK will turn to input press the cycle start and step the program though when it looks safe turn single block off and your off and running GOOD LUCK!
  4. I have a part that I am machining on a 3 axis mill that should be done on a 5 axis mill . It is 10" x 10" with a 10" radius connecting two corners and a pocket milled leaving a wall thickness of .250 all the way around. I have it rotated in "x" axis 45^ and rotated in "y" axis 10^ . I am using verify on all tool paths (Much better in v8.1 ) I defined my stock and saved it as a .stl file that works great. Now I want to remove the part from the vise jaw and rotate it 180^ . My finish pass on the fisrt set-up I saved as a new .stl file I want to rotate it 180^ also . Is there a way to do this?
  5. I will half to agree with Kenneth in his above statement. We have 1 seat of mill8 level 3 and six different people doing cad and cam work on complex erospace part. The biggest problam we have is when the jobs done and stored in the proper place and the paper work is done. Sometimes it does't get done or other times when it does get done you still can't set it up and run it without hafting to make some kind of changes. Then management says well we just run that same part last week why can't we just set it up and run it. If you do get into SFP set-up some protocals and stick with them ! I have been working with mastercam for about 2 years now and I think it is very user friendly and I love all the feature it has to offer.
  6. we have recently purchased solid and i have been using it a little. it is very easy to draw on but i have been having a little trouble programming simple 2d toolpaths but i'm sure with time and some training it will made it alot easier to manufacture the part we make in the aerospace industry
  7. THIS IS MY FIRST POST . I HAVE BEEN READING ALOT OF THE POST AND I ENJOY WHAT IS BEING DONE HERE.
