  1. Whenever I get a saved file that has hatching in it, I get a "WARNING, corrupted entries were not brought in" message. I finally figured out it was the hatching that was corrupted. I tried hatching a simple rectangle anding saving it. When I brought it back in, the same message appeared. I tried the same thing with a single circle, and got the same result. Is this a bug with v8.1?
  2. I use the method described (printscreen,MSPaint, paste, print) for various tasks that I need to accomplish. But, I have a problem that no one can help me solve. Whenever I print it is printed on four pages. I know it must be a simple button to push or box to check in the print dialogue, but I can't find it anywhere. Can someone give this fool a clue. I'm using Windows NT, an Epson 1510 stylus printer and MasterCam V8. Thanks.
  3. Without a doubt associativity was the best thing to happen with V8. I make many parts that are similar in shape, but differ only in the OD. I simply translate the OD geometry, join or trim as necessary, and regenerate. Presto!, a new part is born. It's a good thing my boss doesn't know how easy it is!
  4. I don't know about good, but I'm beginning to find my way around in the lathe package. In my opinion, v8 is the only way to go. Also, a good post file is a necessity. We worked and worked with our supplier till we got a good post for an Okuma OSP700. He did a tremendous job in making a good post. The biggest problem was that we use canned cycles so that debugging on the machine is simpler. I would be glad to pass on any tips or tricks that I have learned.
  5. Karl: Thanks for the info. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but will as soon as possible.
  6. I am looking for shortcut tips when using the tool manager. I need to build several different libraries. The grunt work of making new tools has been using up too much time. Has anyone been able to open two WINDOWS EXPLORER windows and drag&drop between libraries? It seems like it should be possible to manipulate TOOL files in this method, but I have not been able to do it. Does any one know of training that pertains to these types of tasks? The Mastercam training class was very good, but now I am finding if I want to become a "power user" that it is hard to find resources for help. As a further comment, the upgrade to LatheV8 was one of the best choices we ever made.
  7. First, let me say how much I am learning from all the other Mastercam users that are using this forum. Secondly, a "thank you" to those who answered my other postings. Now to my newest question. When setting the "tolerance settings" in the dimension globals or when editing a tolerance value I cannot enter a value of .0000". I sometimes need a .0000 for an upper or lower value. I have tried limiting the value to three decimal places, but that does not always work if I need four decimal places on one of the values. Could this problem be addressed in a version update?
  8. I am a stickler for saving files while working, but I sometimes don't pay close attention to the prompts. That is when the program decides to save in the C drive root directory instead of the file path I use as my default. I end up unknowingly working in 2 different places. Trying to find the file at another time in my default directory gets me a file that is usually not complete. This seems to happen after I have posted the file. Other than the obvious, that I pay more attention to the prompts, does anyone know what is causing my problem?
  9. When translating my geometry, the line colors change to the current drawing color, and the line types change to the current line type. I then have to go into ATTRIBUTES and change everything. This just started happening. I am baffled. Does anyone know what is causing this problem?
  10. I am looking forward to participating in this forum.
