In MC 2018 anyone else noticed you have to be 3D mode to create an edge curve now? If your in 2D mode it will project the curve to your working Z plane.
I've never seen an edge curve before be created anywhere else but on the edge Curve.
Hadnt noticed that one yet, im sure ill like it that way.

I used them at a mold shop
This was back about 15 yrs ago
They were great then i imagine they have to be even better now.
We would generally see a few tenths (.0003) lift on the moveable jaw side
We used machining magnets for everything else

not to worry... I've been running it since Oct 2015
a lot of people don't like the new interface, but the software itself is rock sold.
IMO, it's the most stable version of Mastercam to date.
I can't even remember the last time I had a crash
Gotta agree with you "G" 100%

I've done some contract work with Troy, and he was a pleasure to work with. If I lived in the Cincinnatti area, this would certainly be something I would consider. I believe that Troy is putting all the pieces in place to not only grow his business, but to thrive in today's global economy.
Great to hear good luck Troy
And Daniel brag away, its a great story and you should be proud

I am looking for a top level programmer and manufacturing person to help take my business to the next level. We have extremely nice equipment and software with more on the way. Currently have a Matsuura 5 axis, 3 VMCs and 2-2 axis lathes and a HMC coming in about 3 weeks along with a Zeiss CMM. We are a small company, 6 currently, and looking to grow at a steady clip with the right people, equipment and processes. Implementing Vericut for the MX-520 and HMC is on the short list of projects along with ISO certification. We've latched on to a very nice project and have a few more in the works.
How do I go about finding this person? We're in the Greater Cincinnati area. If you know anyone who may have interest please send them my way.
Are recruiters of any use in this particular type of search? Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks.

Would be a pain to have to always call a chook when I think starting with a template file would prove to be what you are really after since Mastercam doesn't allow the workspace file to be saved with more than just standard views. I think it is a great suggestion for an enhancement request.
Can you run a c-hook on start-up ??

HSS @ 80SFM put you at about 76RPM with a 4in cutter
60-80 SFM should be safe with HSS (57-76rpm)

Would you use a phillips screwdriver on a standard screw just because the phillips is more popular?

www.mcmastercarr.com and download the models already made from there.
Yes you have really proven how much a CAM software cannot compete with a CAD software. :unworthy:

Challenge:
I would like to create shoulder bolts in MC quickly just like in NX. Can you?
Its MasterCam not MasterCad
I doubt you even use NX, just hear what your injuneers tell you.
I do design in NX also and wouldnt consider using MC
Find someone else to annoy, it dont work with me
