  1. Thank you all for your responce to my inquiry. I will be more spacific with the reason for my question, Our machine is a 7 axes, (5 axes live) Weingartner millturn center. It uses a Siemens 840D control and drives. The post processor language is based on the pro-E c/l file. This post processor sends high level "statment comands. In order to optomize this post, the drawing needs to be translated to the c/l format.I wish you all and your families a Very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous new year.
  2. Steve; What or who gave you the notion that no one know's this language Other then the Austrians? Siemens is a world class company that has world class drives and controls. I went to school to learn this language. I understand it. Yes G290 Siemens language is very much different then anything us g-coders are use to seeing but like anything, once you're exposed to it, You learn to understand it.I've driven a lot of controls from Dynapath to Fanuc, from Mits to Mazatrol and all I want to see is how both options look.
  3. I need to convert MasterCam files to C/L files
  4. Question, Must I purchese this C-Hook before I'm able to run ProE converters???? Or does some one have a nother idea!!!
  5. dOGFARTZ; Very good you get the award of excellence for the day....Except it's not just a lathe,
  6. Hi Everyone; My question is. Drawing in MasterCam useing V9SP1 How do I make this a C/L file? The postprocessor on our machine reads in Pro-e C/L format. It can also read in ISO g-code but Siemens language is far more complex and that is the way the OEM. set the machine up. Thanks Rick
  7. SCOTT; AFTER TAXES, ALL 5 C.D 'S CAME TO $536.60 THIS MAY SEEM LIKE A LOT TO YOU BUT HAVING A TUTOR WHEN EVER YOU NEED TO BRUSH UP ON A QUESTION IS INVALUABLE. THE CLASSES TOUGHT THE BASICS AS IT PERTAINS TO GENERAL QUESTIONS BUT COULD NOT COME CLOSE BECAUSE OF TIME CONSTRAINTS
  8. QUESTION; USEING VERSION 9 FOR LATHES, I'M TRYING TO RETRACT ON A TANGENT RATHER THEN HAVING THE BAR FEED IN AN OVERLAPPING FASHION. HOW IS THIS DONE???ALSO WHILE C/BORING IN AN UPWARD DIRECTION, I NEED TO CHANGE SPEEDS & FEEDS DUE TO DIFFERANT TYPES OF MATERIAL. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP
  9. Hi; Does anyone know if with version 9, there's a way to import drafting from Autocad.
  10. Scott; I'm located in Wales WI. not to far from you,and we recently upgraded to version 9 for Mill and lathe. I attended 8 days at Shopware and found that a place called F.M.M.T. Fasttech multi midia training out of Chicago sells the interactive training C.D's. I bought them and found that they are better then the classes. Any questions???
  11. Garen They seem more intrested is trying to sell me version 9 then trying to help me with version 8
