  1. gcode, I know I might be imposing but, If you could capture a screen showing the wireframe on a shaded part this would allow me to demonstrate to or IT guys the advantages we're talking about. I notice in another post you are using a FX-3000. I assume this would be a good choice - we're talking 5 seats at or location (5 x $$$). Just show a MC sample file - I don't want to risk you divulging company secrets or nothing! Don't feel obligated, I know time is money. But, it would really help my case. Place on the FTP (see instructions above). Thanks for your feedback!
  2. I'm exploring the role of the video card on image quality - with shading on and wireframe showing (Mastercam X). I would like to see nice crisp solid lines rendered on my shaded parts. Now I am getting fuzzy, broken, or dashed-like lines - poor graphics quality and lousy to screen capture. Does a high end video card make a differance? Something along the lines of a Quadro FX-350? I want to see clear, solid, and unbroken lines. I work closely with our graphics department.
  3. Excuse me. I missed that these were angular dimensions. I was thinking parallel. In which case I would have to replicate the problem and then work it out… Sorry.
  4. I have found that if you are on the work plane of the text, have a center piont to rotate about, the rotate translation will work. Set the rotation point to your center point and rotation to 180°. You may have to play with switching the orientation of the work plan while dimensioning, finding the right text orientation. You will sometimes get it the first time or it can be an excersize of persistance.
  5. I created the complete set of 3 other isometric views with the Mastercam race car file at the origin. I uploaded it to FTP - "Training_files" folder. Its called "4_ISOMETRIC_VEIWS_CAR.MCX".
  6. Does anyone, by chance, have Adobe Creative Suite CS2 installed along with Mastercam X? I'm experiencing problems with the "create curves on all edges" command. Basically it causes Mastercam to lock up requiring a task manager stop program. I experience the same problem at home were I have both programs installed also. A fix would be greatly appreciated because this is a very often used command. Chris
  7. Excellent. If I wanted to create front RH and front LH isometric views I can use varients of these numbers & axis'. Then I'll have all 4 Isometric views (not counting bottom).
  8. Isometric view goes to LH (in car position) by defalt. Any way to create a RH Isometric view? I'm in automotive body - just need quick way to flip views. Thanks, Chris
  9. Were can I find this "Force print color option" in the Mastercam applet?
  10. For Mastercam X: Can anyone tell us how to find this "Project Points Dialog Box"? It’s mentioned in the Help. Does this dialog box actually exist or is it one-and-the-same with the "Project dialog box"? We've been looking for the simplest way to project points to surfaces or solid for CMM point verification. This operation doesn't seem as simple as it should be in X, hardly an improvement over version 9.1. Sincerely, Chris
  11. g huns, I can sympathize. I've been wating for a reply too. I just sent another request yesterday.
