  1. I've used it for a long time but not for production. Decided to switch finally with the official release and having major problems. The holders not showing up correctly in verify "bug"  pretty much kills it for me. Too much 5 axis work to be running blind :(

  2. There is only one error while updating all my mpmaster based posts from x9 to mc2017:

    # --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    # Debugging and Factory Set Program Switches
    # --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    bug1$          : 2     #0=No display, 1=Generic list box, 2=Editor
    bug2$          : 60    #Append postline labels, non-zero is column position?
    #CNC<<FAIL>>bug3$          : 0     #Append whatline no. to each NC line?<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<here
#CNC<<MSG-ERROR(248)>> The variable, postblock, or other keyword is no longer supported
bug4$          : 0     #Append NCI line no. to each NC line?

    Is anyone else seeing it?
    Any idea what's going on?

    TIA
  3. Looks like I'm a little late to the party, lol.

I can't seem to find my library that I set up years ago for materials HT'ed to 60-65 Rc,  but...here are some tips:

-run dry, make sure there is no coolant anywhere near... even on the spindle housing . Drips of coolant will kill any tool very fast when cutting 60+rc material

-I used Niagara 6+ fl and hanita Javelin series end mills. There should be plenty more choices available now

-make sure there is no runout as mentioned previously

-on a weaker machine the smaller diameter is better

-don't be afraid of red/orange glow when cutting. Those end mills LOVE the heat at high sfm and chipload. The chips should be falling far from the part forming a fine, hair like pile

-you'll now when time comes to swap for a new end mill ;)

-the part will eventually get hot, but you should be able to touch it

    -again, NO COOLANT

-I'll post the speeds and feeds when I find my library...

  4. You guys are correct, there is a tool list in the mplmaster post.

I'm a huge fan of mpmaster posts and all my mills are based on that.

Any advantage of mplmaster over mpfan? I'm not a big lathe guy, but I need to set up few new posts for our lathes. I already got the tool list figured out in mpfan. This one is a simple 2 axis slant bed mori sl25.

    tia

  5. Can anyone give me a sample of program for Hurco VM10 with ISNC package?

I'm interested in tool changes, rigid tap cycle and info on any quirks? Supposedly it'll run a regular Fanuc code.

We just bought it for tool room in a different facility and I'm hoping to set up a post for it so we don't have to use conversational side if we don't want to.

    TIA

  6. I won't release anything without running it thru vericut first. With multiaxis machines there is just too much going on.

The only think I absolutely hate about vericut is when I upgrade to a newer pc...moving the license server on a corporate computers is an absolute nightmare...I wish it was all simply "dongle" based like mastercam, lol

  7. "Since then I have added a few paths to it, copied it and added more."

Not sure I'm following. You copied stock model?

When i have problems regenerating stock model it's usually the fault of the original stock. Using an .stl file instead of stock model fixes it almost every time. I also noticed that it happens more often when I use undercutting custom tools.

Not consistent at all, which makes it hard to report. My files are very large as well, using up to 20 stock models in some, but nowhere near the number of toolpaths that you have

Sorry, couldn't be of any help. Please keep us updated, I'm curious

  8. Don't trust the holder definitions in mastercam...or any holder manufacturer (which supplied those definitions). I found mistakes in almost all of them.

Always verify! Especially when flying by within .010-.025" at high speeds on 4 and 5 axis equipment

  9. I would like to rough an area down to the final depth then move to the next area final depth and so on. is that possible?

It works it way down by roughing everything at the step down I input. I have a large part and it moves 25.0 just to hit this small area.

maybe its the wrong TP for this application?

    Thanks

"Optimize cut order" is supposed to do just that, but doesn't always yield desirable results.

    Do you have it checked?
