  1. Hi, i have problem with helix entry move in Heidenhain iTNC530. I used dynamic core milling, with helix entry and this is part of h-code generated by postprocessor: 7420 L X+79.743 Y+57.875 R0 7430 CC X+77.882 Y+54.334 7440 C X+80.982 Y+56.863 DR- R0 7450 L X+81.335 Y+56.430 R0 7460 CC X+78.235 Y+53.902 7470 C X+81.572 Y+56.108 DR- R0 7480 CC X+82.406 Y+56.659 7490 CP IPA7.249 Z-0.313 DR+ R0 7500 CC X+82.406 Y+56.659 7510 CP IPA3.246 Z-0.304 DR+ R0 7520 L X+81.688 Y+55.963 R0 7530 CC X+78.806 Y+53.189 As i read forum here, people have problem with generating IPA or CP line. My post generate them properly, but when i start simulation on machine i have error message. "incorrect block". I have IPA line at the beginning of program and that passed simulation without any problem. Where is the problem? tolerances, control definition? I bypass problem by dont allow helix move in control definition, so postprocessor generates only lines and arcs. Thanks for your help.
  2. I wonder, if anyone can make screenshot of workspace with level manager, operation manager and left margin toolbar turned on. How big is the rest of screen (design area) on 16" or 17" display with resolution 1980x1020.
  3. Hi, I am looking for a laptop suitable for Mastercam. At work i have 30" display (toolbars setting screenshot is in attached file) http://img268.imageshack.us/i/clipboard02at.jpg I found Sony VAIO F13M1. It has 16,4" Full HD display with resolution 1920x1080. I have no idea how will my toolbars looks like at this screen with this resolution. Can somebody send me screenshot? or recomend any notebook? I also found 18" laptop from Toshiba or Acer with full HD, but it is too large and Sony is Sony. Thanks for your replies...
  4. In Inkscape you can do this much more quickly. Only clik clik clik and job is done. Software uses three metods to detect edge, you can adjust filter sensitivity and than if it is necessary make manual correction. I use this a lot for engraving pictures for my friends or just for fun.
  5. If you would like to make shape of quitar, then i can recommend you perfect program i use for digitalizing pictures, photos etc. It is freeware (opensource) program Inkscape (www.inkscape.org). I googled some pictures of guitar you asked and i found some very good photos from which you can make easily shape of guitar (if you are interested, i can help you). But only one problem is to fit the scale. You need some reference object with known dimensions.
  6. Hi, 1. when i open in X5 old file created in X4, i allways have to change postprcessor. Is it because i changed default path from "...my shared folder\" to "C:\mcamx5\mill\posts\.." as i was accustomed from X4 ? (i want to have all files related with X5 in one folder - post, ops, config file etc.) 2. When importing toolpaths in op. manager in X4 there is source folder button and rollout menu with toolpaths files located there. For me it is clearer than X5 style: when i select import op. than there is popup window with file selection (and default path is set up to ...my shared folder\...) So it is too much clicks for import toolpath. 3. When i select default directory for my mcx (mcx-5) files to directory where i have folder named by customers (companies) (c:\work\company A\) It sometimes work, sometimes not when i try to open file. Sometimes i am in C:\work\, but sometimes i am in ...my shared folder\... 4. When filling tool feedrates, spindle speed etc, in X4 MU3 i used "enter" to get to the next field, in X5 it is "tab" and i am not sure but, in X3 it was "tab" ? I think "enter" key is much faster and more comfortable because i can use numpad. Is there any way to change it? But to be sure, i am not complaining about X5. I love some new fetures that are very usefull for me. And whole mastercam is number one for me :-)
  7. Is in X5 option to lock toolbar windows position? it is annoying when i accidentaly move with them.
