Hi, I have noticed issue when using stock setup. In some cases, it completly freeze computer, because of it consumes aprox. 7GB of 8GB RAM. (i have memory buffering setup to 50 percent of RAM in toolpath setting) It happens even on simple toolpaths. Does anybody have same problem or know how to fix it? Thanks

Hi, isn't it "computing error" ? I had this error twice today and there is another topic here, but with no answer. I deleted wrong OP, create new one with same surfaces, tools and only one thing i changed was tolerances and it helps.

i use this: http://www.3d-tool.de/ in pro version it includes CAD converter for Catia, Creo etc. Sometimes i use converter for healing bad model data and it helps.

That was only my thoughts... that "material cutting" option tells Mastercam which part of tool can cut material (only cutting length). Other parts of tools are not allowed to cut material so when they touch workpiece/stock it is evaluated as a collision. Yesterday i had another issue: I spent most of time upgrading my tool libraries - adding tapper angle between shoulder and shank to all tools BUT! :-) After that i did some tests and had this issue: - Mastercam marks all parts of tool as cutting length - whole tool is yellow - so every part of tool cut material and contact of shank with workpiece/stock is not evaluated as collision (with old style tools which was simple two cylinders, it works - only tip of tool is yellow and collisions are calculated properly) - When using new tool, i have allways pop up window "operation has undercuts...switch on 5 axis verify to get proper result..." after verify starts. Switching to old tool fixed this.

so it is necessary to have all options enabled to do proper verify. I thought that only cutting length with flutes does not collide when reach material, other parts of tool like shoulder, holder etc. will be showed as collision.

I have problem with X7 verify, it don't recognize collision of holder with stock or even workpiece. I have setup collision check to holder, shank, shoulder and cutting lenght. Tool is complete assembly of tool and holder. I tried to do the same in X6 and everything worked fine - collision check works. Same OP and parameters, same tool (i changed my default holder file to profile that i used in X7) Edit: What exactly means this option: "material cutting" ? I have selected only "cutting length" I mean that other options when tool hit workpiece will be taken as collisions

What is your experience with Fraisa? Especially delivery times etc. I ordered 4 X-generation end mills in march and recieved them yesterday :-D Reseller told me, Fraisa don't have them on stock in main factory in Switzerland. Is it normal in USA too? Fraisa has weird customer care, wait months for tools when other brands can send me tool in one day.

I have problem when saving surfaces to 3D pdf, some are missing.

if you go to edit tool by right click - it works if you go to edit tool by double click - it doesn't work

i upgraded Hedenhain post ( 3 axes) from X6 MU3 post via migration utility and it works fine.

I am not at work at the moment, but i ll send it tomorrow in the morning. I think it is not file dependant, because it happens everytime. You can try it. Double click on tool in any operation parameters window, change tool diam. and select "create new" I tried it 3 times (change from diam. 4 -> 3 and 3 -> 2) and it always change both diameters (source tool and new one)

I noticed a bug when changing tool diameter. - i create any operation with one tool - in second operation i would like to program toolpath with smaller tool diameter with same number (making gap on electrodes) - so i select tool -> choose edit -> change tool diam. -> save -> in pop-up window select "create new tool" Problem is, that result of this are two identical tools (with smaller diam.) X7 create new tool, but change diam. of both tools. First operation become dirty.

i am using old backplot to see cutting time to optimize toolpath quite often. Can you add this option somewhere into main window, not in new verify/backplot pop up window? And one off topic :-) What is purpose of allowing holder to cut material in default setting in new verify? I heard that sound once in my life and hope i dont hear it again :-) (i already edited xml to uncheck it as default)

Today i had same issue. My toolbar icons randomly shuffles, mastercam stop responding (i can rotate model, zoom etc, but no new window pop up when i try to create toolpath etc.) I deleted all registry entry in GUI and restart. All works fine now. Is source of problem that i have many icons on workspace?

Today i noticed, that when creating new tool in tool manager, there is "tapper angle" and "tapper length" column to define cone between cutting diameter and shank. Thanks for that option. But if i want to edit existing tool, i can't find these values in tool properties.

i just tried to do some fast solution. I created box like yours and create curves on edges on internal holes. Select them as contour (option 3D contour chamfer) with custom profile tool, and it looks like it could work.

I would like to find if variable is within interval and if yes, do A if not, do B. so i wrote this: if 0 < variable < 4, sstring1 = "whatever", else, sstring1 = "" By my opinion result of this is: variable = 1 or 2 or 3 ----> sstring1 = "whatever" variable = 0 or 4 ------> sstring1 = "" Why has MP different opinion ? :-) Or is better to write: if 0 < variable & variable < 4 or is it nonsense... Thanks for help
