  1. What? Is this true? CNC Software: Please, tell me that they have wrong. This destroys the whole idea of a custom tab.
  2. Hi all! I have been using Mastercam for several years, and have now installed Mastercam 2017. Because I want to have my own custom toolbar, I have now begun to build a custom tab in the Ribbon Bar. But there is one thing I don't understand. Totally random, some buttons are displayed as large, and some are displayed as small. Here's an example where I have added 7 commands I use often: As you can see, one button will be small, and the rest large. This is very annoying, and looks strange. It becomes impossible to create a smooth custom tab when it behaves like this. Is there anyone here who know what I'm doing wrong? Where is the setting that determines the size of the buttons?

  4. I had the same problem after I installed X5, but without uninstalling X4 first. I solved it like this: 1. Uninstall all Mastercam that you have installed. 2. Go into the registry (regedit) and delete all keys containing any of the following: "cnc software" "mastercam" "mcamx" Use search to find all. 3. Restart your computer. 4. Install Mastercam. Now it works to associate files to Mastercam again.
  5. I now have a solution to the problem. If anyone else would get the problem so the solution is as follows: The parameter for the automatic startup of MCWhatsNew.exe is here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, CNC Software, Mastercam X5 Change the value Whats New from 0 to 1. If the value is missing, simply create a DWORD value named Whats New, and set the value to 1. Thanks for the help, Torbjorn Kvick on Ame AB (www.ameab.se)
  6. Thanks for the tip. I have the file xmllite.dll in C:\Windows\System32, so I don´t miss it. I have mailed [email protected], but they don't respond (yet).
  7. Thanks for the tip. It does not work. Then there will be a another error message: "Error loading What's New Engine"
  8. Hi! Excuse my bad English. I am using a translating program. My name is Jonas and I'm from Sweden. My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Mastercam X4 MU3 works perfectly, but when I tried to install the X5, I get an error message every time I start the program. I can just close this error message and then Mastercam works as it should, but this is very annoying. I have tried to install the X5 on two different computers, but the same error message comes up. Since my Windows is in Swedish so I also attached a translation of the error message. I have also tried to start the file MCWhatsNew.exe manually in Windows explorer without starting Mastercam, but the same error message comes up. So, I have two questions: 1. Does anyone here know what this error is due, and have a solution? 2. If no one knows how I solve this, how do I turn off the automatic start of MCWhatsNew.exe when I start Mastercam X5? Thanks in advance...
