Good Afternoon
We have one mastercam part that two programmers worked together to accomplish. one programmer did the lathe side and one programmer did the mill side. Now I would like to merge the files together so to keep all the geometry and toolpathes simple. I was able to merge the geometry but I can't figure out how to import the Toolpathes.
Thanks for the help

On our Haas SL 20 its G04 P1000. It will dwell 1000 seconds or if you leave off the decimal point it will dwell 1000 milisecods. You can use any number after the P do have it dwell as long as you like.
Have fun

The King has entered the building. G04 worked like a champ I was stuck in the Mastercam mind and couldn't see the forest for the trees.
Thanks for the help

I am trying to knurl on our Haas SL20 and having fare success. I currently have our knurling tool programed as an outside grooving tool programed for the width of the knurling head as the tool. I have very limited movement left or right and need the tool to dwell just a little to get a good full knurl. Any ideas an how to get this toolpath to dwell would help.
Thanks for all the help

After setting a user defined home on the lathe parameters page our post still outputs a G28 U0 W0 which send the lathe to machine home. Any ideas on how to edit this post to output the home settins from MC?
Thanks

We are using a tail stock and machine home is on the other side of the tail stock so, we must home all the tools somewhere between the tail stock and the chuck.
thanks Al

Ok (whew) We finally got a post to actually cut the part that we want. We started with the mplfan post from the Mastercam cd. The only problem is that after every operation this post sends the tool to machine home G28. How can we get it to send the tool to the user defined home that we have input into mastercam?
Thanks for all the help

Good Day All
I was just wondering we are currently tapping thousands of holes that are very deep and are breaking taps on a regular basis. Is there a way in mastercam to get a chip break in a tapping cycle? Currently we are just tapping the holes in one shot with moderate success.
Thanks for all the help

aaah it makes so much more sense to me now! I have sent our file to our reseller and they were going to forward it on to see if we can find out why this happened but, all seems smooth now. Thanks again for all the help.

finally got it. I don't know why but when Mastercam created the stl file it also created a file of the same name with a .lwn extentions. I finally deleted all of the files with this extension and that was all she wrote. Works like a charm.
Thanks again for everyones help

I clicked the file radio button which turns the file block white, then I selected my stl file and clicked ok.
which takes me back to my verify screen but it still shows the square stock. when I click the verify config button to check my settings the box button is selected and the file is grayed out? is that normal or is our mastercam messing up??
Thanks

I don't really need to transform my stl file all I'm doing is trying to get a visual referance of a completed part in the verify. The part we are manufactering begins as angle iron. So I set up my original stock square stock and made a dummy operation to machine all the material out to make my angle then I saved that as my stl file. but I can't seem to make the stl file my default stock. We are going to use this same angle in many differant programs so I wanted to just make it default material for the time being.
thanks in advance for all the help

forgot the last step you must say yes to the question you are changing this to a less safe condition. if you get setting 51 to stop blinking this should disable the button? allthough you TM-1 may be newer than ours.
Good luck

here is how to disable the hold/run button. I don't believe this voids any warrenty since it is a software changable option but, you might check. You will have to change it everytime the machine is powered up since it is a factory default.
push settings graph key, page down 1 time, change setting 51 from off (use arrow key) to on (enter by hitting write key)
Hope this helps
have a great day

I am trying to set up a stl file from stock previously machined but my setting won't save.
I have saved an stl file and went into the verify config page and selected file for stock and ensured that the proper stl file was selected then clicked ok. My stock displayed isn't the stl file that I chose but, my raw stock from previos operation. when I go back to the veify config page the box value is preselected for me. I know that I must be missing a step but I'm pulling my hair out trying to find it.
By the way I did go and look at my stl file using the file converter read file and it looks good from there just seems that mastercam isn't saving my settings or I'm missing a step.
Thanks in advance!! everyone in this forum rocks.
have fun

Both of you hit the nail right on the head. We did get it to work but, the problem we were having was that we have Mill and Lathe on seperate USB Hasps, So I had to keep plugging and unplugging the hasps on one laptop to get the right program to reconize the hasp when I needed it. I did get some of my Mill toolpathes to be reconized in lathe but, I had to rework some of the other ones. It just proved faster to redo the work rather than keep messing with the hasps... Guess we will be combining our hasps and buying more seats
Thanks for the help everyone
